How do you handle L.A. traffic. Any time I've visited your city, I've always been amazed by the amount of traffic. Have you mastered the back roads/side streets? Are you close to your work place so you don't have a long drive? Are you just inured to the traffic situation out there?
For anyone who's reading this, who has never been to L.A. I don't mean to dissuade you, it's just I've found the traffic to be a perpetual rush hour.
It doesn't help when people drive poorly, putting through a turn signal etc. Those kinds of stupid moments just exacerbate the situation.
Since I'm a bit inebriated, have you ever eaten at STK? I liked it prior to becoming a vegetarian. Cecconi's (sp?) out by West Hollywood is pretty good too.
i was born and raised in Southern California so you think i'd be used to it but i still hate and get pissed off by traffic. if it weren't for traffic i think this would be the best city in the world. when you live here you learn when and where to go and not go. certain areas i avoid altogether or only go to if i absolutely have to. or i go when i know it will be light. everyone who lives here has a million alternate routes they can take at any time. right now i'm lucky because i live about 5 miles from work, and can bike. i haven't always been so lucky. i think living closer to your work is key to avoiding oppressive soul-crushing daily commutes. or biking
Interesting. That's great you can bike to work! Cecconi's has this amazing gnocchi appetizer, I'm not even a big gnocchi fan but these were phenomenal.
