Great show, so this is good news. They care a lot about the sound, so I guess they will sound better than on Fallon

I hope they turn the amps up to 11 and BF wails like a good 'un.
I've not been watching Later With Jools Holland these days as it's seriously 'softened' with age. Not enough edgy stuff being broadcast anymore. Bring back the Word, the tube, Snub TV, whistle test etc.... |

Two songs. "Wave of Mutilation" closed the show. Not the best mix for 'Later' but hopefully the mix on Friday will be sorted. "What Goes Boom" just great. Janelle Monae also very, very good

Thank you so much for posting this! Had kind of a crappy night and this really helped turn things around for me. They sound great and I just love seeing Charles get so into it and smiling like mad at the end. Man, I'm so glad this band has life to them again! :) |

Fantastic ! Frank really seems to have fun. I don't remember him like this (in the Pixies context) since a long time ago.

Even the crappiest cellphone video I've seen from the recent performances show a band having a great time, diving into a sold out tour with new songs to play, a new record out and more on the way. It's good to it see it crystal clear here.

does anyone know if they played more than two songs? maybe an extra song will be shown on the longer version of the show on friday?
i don't know "later with jools holland" well enough to know the differences between tuesday and friday episodes.

Watching "What Goes Boom," I cannot stop smiling from ear to ear.
I absolutely LOVE seeing Pixies enjoying having something new to share and taking pride in having something new to prove.
Also, FBF is really "selling it" on these TV spots, which I am thrilled to see.
Everyone knows how important these appearances are in the grand scheme of things, and it looks as if they are each individually pulling out all the stops, to the best of their abilities ...
