Appears the band is to play a show or two at L'Olympia, Paris at the end of September.

well well well... I don't expect these to be cheap. But I'll definitely go.

--

This is really funny... I went to the website of the venue and it seems they just pasted some random bio of the band without reading it. Basically it says they totally sold out and that the reunion gigs are lame. Someone didn't do his job.

Denis, hope you get tickets and give us a detailed review. Of the show. Not the ticket purchasing process.

Tickets booked for Paradiso. Only found out about that one because I got a mail from Ancienne Belgique - not had anything from the mailing list yet.

One of the belgium shows is sold out.

Dear Denis, do you know if it's possible to get tickets for Paris without them sending the tickets to me 30 euro's for FedEx seems a bit too expensive. I mean the concert itself cost only 44 euro's.

Yes, you can book tickets on this site and pick them up at the venue with some ID ! (you can also try this one http://www.fnactickets.com/recherche/rechercheRapide.do?search=pixies and pick them up at a fnac store with the same credit card you ordered them with. delivery might be cheaper, I don't know.)

ps: Got mine at 10pm, my guess is that it will be sold out in the afternoon.

Thanks, that's very nice. I'm still looking into it. If I can make it that date. Can't make the Amsterdam date, I'm in Greece then.

The original link mentioned 2 dates in Paris on September 29th and 30th. Does that mean they're gonna add another gig when the first one is sold out?

it's only google translate, but it says:

"ES ORDERS ARE LIMITED TO 6 PEOPLE THE SAME NAME. ALL ORDERS WILL BE CANCELLED TOP.
THE PIXIES ANNOUNCES FIRST DATES OF THEIR WORLD WIDE TOUR Group Will Play In New Titles Pixies For The First Time
LOS ANGELES, CA - July 1, 2013 - Armed with "Bagboy," the first new song of the band in nine years, The Pixies will begin the first round of a massive world tour on September 29 in Paris This date marks the kick. sending the first Pixies tour in almost two years, and give them the opportunity to do something they could not do in two decades to play a preview of new songs from the Pixies, the first collection new titles from Trompe le Monde released in 1991. Dates for sale and ticketing information are available on pixiesmusic.com.
For this tour, which will highlight a new stage production and configuration, the Pixies - Black Francis - guitar / vocals, Joey Santiago - guitars / vocals and David Lovering - drums / backing vocals - will be joined by bassist Kim Shattuck. Shattuck has played bass for garage rock band female Los Angeles The Pandoras, and then guitarist for pop-punk band The Muffs. The four musicians are locked in a rehearsal room in Los Angeles to prepare to offer the setlist of the largest in the entire career of the Pixies concert.
"In addition to our favorite songs, we play songs we have not played for years or never played live before," said Black Francis. "Songs like 'Brick is Red,' 'Havalina,' 'Tony's Theme.' and 'Sad Punk.' We probably released about 80 songs, so we can change the setlist at the last minute if we wish. We're all very excited to start this tour. "
Formed in Boston, the Pixies have been acclaimed as the most influential pioneering band of the movement alt / rock of the late 80s. Their five studio albums and their first six years together paved the way for bands such as Nirvana, Radiohead and Pearl Jam, who then followed their path to glory. The Pixies broke up in 1993 and began a reunion tour in April 2004 to which each of the dates was literally complete in a few minutes and saw fans travel hundreds of miles to be present at the concert. The Pixies exploded sales records around the world, the U.S. SPIN magazine named the "Comeback of the Year 2004" and the group made its grand finale in New York City with 24,000 tickets sold for an incredible unprecedented result eight sold-out concerts at the Hammerstein Ballroom. meeting Pixies The tour continued in 2005, and then to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their album Doolittle released in 1989, the group began the "Doolittle Tour" 1 October 2009 in Dublin, playing the album in its entirety from the first to the last song. The tour was so popular that it lasted two years, taking the group in 18 countries for a total of 117 dates.
In May 2013, it was announced that Kim Deal, a founding member of the group, decided to leave the Pixies. Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering have however made it clear that instead of Kim in the group would always be there for her."

Enjoy, Europeans! I suppose it's not a common thing to hope for mostly new music at a gig, well done Pixies.

I sadly can't afford this this time, but I'd really love to see them at the Barrows in Glasgow. Anyway I still wouldn't give up my ticket for Art Brut to go though, a middle of the fringe on a Saturday night pre-tour gig from one of the best art punk bands of today in their prime? Who said rock and roll was dead. No, you are old and boring. Who do you want in your corner? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4KHwA8vdfQ
