The guy who runs pixiesmusic.com has been plugging his Kickstarter project recently.

'We would like to tell you about a special project that a very good friend of ours Sean Rayburn is working on:

Dear Fans,

It's called 'PIXIES: A Visual History' and I think it is something you will want to check out!

People who "Like" the Pixies on Facebook may know this already, but just to recap, a few years ago, we started posting photos of the early days of the band. Some photos even predated the Pixies, like the one of Charles and Joey jamming in their dorm room at U-Mass Amherst! With all the photos we were sharing, we had such a fantastic response, to the point that even the music press was contacting us for details and the story behind the photos, which got us to thinking...

What if we raided the archives and released a book of the early days, featuring rare and never-before seen photos? What if we reached out to photographers who've worked with the band, and had them develop some photos they haven't looked at in 25 years? What if we took all this and put it in a quality hardcover edition, and made it exclusive to the online fans? Speaking for myself, it sounded like something as a fan of the Pixies I would really be in to!

With that in mind, I along with my good friend Aaron Tanner started working on this project, as fans, for the fans. I approached the band and their manager, and got their blessing to put it all together. I started production of volume 1 of this project. I shopped the book around, and while there was amazing response to the project, I was unsatisfied with where the publishers wanted to take this project.

Instead of releasing this book through traditional means, we decided to do it ourselves. But WOW! is publishing a book expensive!

So we need your help.

We started a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to put it all together. We have about three weeks left to raise the money we need to get the project funded.

Check out the Kickstarter project by going to http://kck.st/12JVsvM . You will find a great video put together by our friends at Exit 73 Studios, with narration by none other than Reid Paley himself. We go in to even more detail about the project, and we've got a few early Pixies recordings for you to listen to while perusing the page!

Thanks for your time, Pixies fans!

Sean T. Rayburn'

The project seems to be about Sean T.Rayburn as much as it is about the band.

It is an exciting project. But it's asking for a very large amount of money with little breakdown of actual costs.

i've decided i don't want to spend $100 on a picture book. (sorry!)

David Lynch, director who "doesnt want" to make a movie since 2006's Inland Empire, produced by the french like all his movies since about 20 years. smb?

No man, it's always hard to raise funds for David Lynch movies, even for David Lynch! At least he doesnt have to convince the bass player, but movies are super expensive.
