I think is Kim doesn't want to do an album they should just get Brigid Dawson in from Thee Oh Sees, it'd be just as good + she's prettier and younger.
I think I've sussed what is going on anyway. Francis has recorded a new album with Joey Santiago and who knows else, Dave and maybe some others featuring on some songs, like the FMRM album but more Francis/Santiago/Pixies style.
Joey also mentioned his epic 2010 Galstonbury April Fool today, but no new April fool...?
Any the new Thee Oh Sees album is epic, maybe their best ever. They have really come together as a band and could be around for a long time, they are like the new Sonic Youth. They've hit the big time with this album though I'm sure.
I'm not sure why there's still scepticism. Surely all the BMI stuff, the work in Norton's studio, and the comments made by Violet Clark / Arcade Fire guy / Kodaline / Jane's Addiction guy suggest a new Pixies release? Obviously one can't be 100% sure but the recent publication of the song titles makes it seem *almost* a certainty.

Thanks for the heads up about Thee Oh Sees album though - I've only heard one of their releases and it was superb.
