I stumbled across Ray Davies 2011 album "See My Friends" the other day-

http://www.amazon.com/See-My-Friends-Ray-Davies/dp/B0043VCPV4/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1363268166&sr=1-1&keywords=ray+davies+see+my+friends

And I noticed it had "This Is Where I Belong" on it. I just assumed it was the same version as the Headache B-side but it is actually a new recording. A slower version, duet with Ray Davies.

Sorry if this is old news, but I completely missed this when it was originally released - and don't remember a mention of it on this site before..

It's definitely one of the better collaborations on that album. I love Ray but it's kinda sad he allowed Mumford and Sons to fuck up not one but two of his classic songs.

There was some discussion about the song and The Kinks here: http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20243

Thanks for the link, I totally missed that other thread - and yes, as you say, the FB/RD track is one of the better ones..
