anyone have tips on preventing chafing when going on long hikes? are my boxers hanging too low below my sac? not sure why sometimes I get chafing and others not

One day I bought a new pair of skates, they destroyed my heels, I had blisters the size of a two-dollar coin, it took months to heal. I used New Skin, that stuff smells bad. The skates were stolen from my car before I could wear them again. |

Get an over the counter hydrocortisone cream. I used to have this problem. You could always try wearing cycling shorts too, that worked for me.

You're losing us floop. You've been offered two world-class solutions to your 'difficulty'; naked hiking and long johns. And you've curtly dismissed them both. Did you really stop to give them the consideration they deserved, did you huh?
I don't know, one thing we haven't thought of yet might be a typically Hawaiian solution, like maybe grass skirt, simple is best, or banana leaf maybe. Or rubbing pineapple chunks on the afflicted areas, I don't know... I mean what's wrong with long johns, seriously? I can easily see you in 'em.

i beg your pardon? i have considered those options but neither seem plausible. i hike in warm weather climates. unless you're talking about a night hike long johns are not an option. my sac gets hot enough just wearing pants. i have a high body temperature. especially in the sac region. hiking in long johns in high heat? sac no likey.
naked hiking probably would be enjoyable except I'd probably get tased and arrested here, or eaten by a mountain lion

Baby wipes have more uses than just wiping your butthole. You wipe under your nuts, your taint, in between your legs, thighs, it cleans the sweat of those parts and moisturizes the skin to help reduce chafing. (also comes in handy if you do have to take a shit, so get the biodegradeable ones). And if you've never put on a fresh pair of underwear during a long hike after they're wet with sweat, you're missing out.

get some body glide - its like a deodorant stick. you can get it at running stores. somehow lubes up the inner thigh and last a very long period. like all day.
