I think that pretty much settles it. There is no new Pixies album in the works. |

Always found Last Splash poor besides four or five crackers. Pod is way better. |

Last Splash has No Aloha. This song alone makes the album great. I'd say Roi, Flipside, Hag and Drivin On 9 are average but I love the rest. For some reason POD never really grew on me. I really have no idea why.
Anyway I'm not a fan of the idea of playing complete albums back to back but I'd definitely go to see this tour.

I don't think there will be that many dates to be honest. Does anyone care about this album anymore? To me it's your prototypical 90s album. |

I agree. It's easy to understand why they were so appealing back in the day. They were cute and endearingly goofy. They came off like the cool, hip, older sisters most high school/college girls wish they had. Their music was interesting, but not something that was going to withstand the test of time.
Now they come off like the weird, old spinster aunts that most families avoid discussing. A couple of middle aged ladies who spent years living hard.......and it shows. There music isn't strong enough to carry them through. It's cute when a couple of young, nice looking girls mess up on stage and deliver a sloppy performance, it's cringe worthy watching two old ladies do the same thing.
There may be some interest motivated by nostalgia, but I doubt it will generate the same buzz as the Pixies reunion of 2004. |

How is this different from the majority of aging male musicians? The Stones being Exhibit A?
I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

Actually, I've been saying for quite some time that the Stones really need to pack it up.....it's just embarrassing for all concerned now.
In any case, it's unfair to compare the Stones to the Breeders. In their day, the Stones produced some very provocative music that's withstood the test of time. On the other hand, the Breeders were nothing more than a flash in the pan. One fairly interesting EP, and an album that really only appealed to sorority girls....or wannabe sorority girls, both male and female. The Amps CD was the queen of the dollar discount bin, and the other albums were just throw-ways done to alleviate the boredom of middle age.
Like I said, I doubt the Breeders reunion will generate the same kind of interest as the Pixies reunion. |

Fissle's probably annoyed because he legally can't go see The Breeders reunion tour, what with the restraining order and all. |

Ok, I officially have no idea what is going on but I do know that the Breeders didn't put out an album that "only appealed to sorority girls..."
I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

The restraining order was not for Kim, it was for Paz Lenchantin...................I've got a thing for girl bass players. |

Fuck it, I have a dick and I think all of Kim's records are great. All killer, no filler. Amps are insane!

wow, that's a bold statement.
I think I like Last Splash the best, the other 3 (or 4) are just behind it and equally good. They also sound exactly the same.

PUERTO RICO PIXIE
Tickets are only $25...that's very reasonable. She really seems to like Brooklyn. Thompson, on the other hand seems to prefer Hoboken.
I'm guessing they are going to be adding more US dates before they go off to Europe. I can't imagine they'll come out to NYC from Dayton, do a one off and return to Dayton to wait two months. |

The New York show sold out in less than 1 hour. I'll bet a lot more dates are added, and don't be surprised if the LSXX tour goes into the fall. |
