It's the exclamation mark that puts me off in his thread. Makes him sound like an overexcited pre-pubescent girl. Or a tabloid. "Ke$ha wears flip-flops at the VMA!"

I'd give this one to Denis.
While floop is right that Denis' title is a bit wordy (floop's is more direct, to his credit), the name of the game these days is search engine optimization. Because Denis' title uses Frank's full name, it is more SEO-friendly.
Google "frank black and tony hawk" and see which thread comes up.

SEO is important. Another factor to consider when deciding which is the official thread.

Back in the 80's we used to play on these things
The trucks were pretty loose so when we turned left we really turned left. 80s UK retro. In the 90s my town had one local skate shop that served everything for skate and surf. Even though we were land locked. In the 90s there was a huge craze for crazy paving style fly paper and fluorescent wheels over here. I remember buying some acid drop wheels too. The first time I'd seen wheels that weren't 3 inches thick. I used to just spin those things for ages loving the bearings. |

Nice vid. I was sold by the first second!
We tried to skate. I could ollie pretty high but that was about it. Over here we had these too which were pieces of crap. The days before we knew concaved boards existed.
Jeez it was horrendous. The faces of friends as their £12 boards snapped in half. |

i could ollie pretty high, but not amazing. at my peak i was pretty good.
i still skate now (again) but mostly transition. low impact (except when you fall). i cannot ollie anywhere close to what i could. i skated with this portly fellow old guy who was popping gigantic ollies on this bank and doing crazy flip tricks. inspiring

Yeah I watched the few videos you posted of you skating a bowl. KoK's vid too was pretty neat. I was just happy to be able to ollie over planks of wood and kerbs.
We messed about now and again with snowboards at the local indoor snow dome but my ankles always hurt so I thought sod this. And surfing! The english on surf boards!! Trying to ride waves that were a foot high haha. We used to jump in my friend's V-dub and head to the coasts of Wales a lot over the summer. The innocent days spent watching The Endless Summer. |

i think the thread titles and sub-forum placement illustrate the relative importance of the 2 main characters in each of our combatants lives. floop on the one hand shows his excitement with an exclamation mark and a nonchalant reference to the man, whereas denis thread title puts the mans name first followed by our humble interviewer; denis' thread may rank higher in a search engine web search but he clearly has no passion for skateboarding.
vote for floop.......because denis orders mctwists from rotten ronnies

This forum is a funny place today. I like the fact floop posted the link to the video first, but I remember reading Denis's thread sometime before. Denis certainly gets kudos for being able to write in English as well as French.

I wouldn't mind if you were. I think what I thought was more fuck this, but sod this is because there were adults around. About our shared language: you guys use the word pissed as in pissed off. Like red neckers, they get us pissed. I hear it everywhere. You probably already know this but "pissed" over here means drunk. "Pissed off" means annoyed. |

But mad doesn't always mean mad. Mad means angry or crazy.

Which Frank is floop's thread about by the way? Haven't read it myself so I don't know, I keep wondering if Tony Hawk interviewed Frank Lampard, and why would anyone give a shit about it.
