I remember when some people on here were trying to organize a private, forum members only FB&the C's show. I think this woman went to the trouble of drawing up some kind of contract (or maybe it was her husband) or mission plan regarding it.
Too bad the Pixies don't do solo covers, Catholics, Breeders, etc. |

I'm sure Pixies are a pretty penny but I remember seeing some industry sheet back in Catholics days (might not have been real) that had them as being 5 thousand dollars. how awesome would it be to have the Catholics play your house party / wedding what have you?

I'll chip in a couple hundred. I can probably scrounge up some green M&M's in the couch cushions too, I'll let you know.

If that's an accurate figure, at twenty shows they're already getting a good profit. Since they primarily set up their own gear, did the bookings, etc. they had presumably low overhead. Gas, food, lodging, laundry, vehicle maintenance, etc. I guess it depends on how they divvied up the money at the end of a tour. Having zero experience with how a tour operates, it looks like an intense way to make a good amount of money. From what I've read, it seems like the travel itself and the blur of hotel rooms is what can wear a band down. It's all moot now since the Catholics are gone, though.
It took me a while to get into Surf Epic, I was disappointed the first time I heard it but I've come to really enjoy it. |

i love Czar: especially the line: "OIL! The national turmoil...." actually i remember listening to this and ten percenter and thinking "well it ain't the pixies but i think there might be something exciting in the future..." who woulda thunk at that time something as epic as TOTY was on the horizon and then the catholics......sometimes i'm just blown away.

So many songs I love. Solid all the way through, regardless of whether you skip any of them. 10%er and Tsar never waiver in my admiration and have always ranked highest, everything else is a close second that has at one time been in the top two.

Yeah, probably Ramona is the (second) best. Honestly many of the songs are classics, so it's hard to choose. I haven't heard this album in a loooooooong time, but have recently been listening to Teenager quite a bit. |

Can't thank you enough for this. I listened to the gig over the last few days and it's great. It was a nice surprise to hear Wave of Mutilation - I was under the impression he didn't play any Pixies songs live until the early 2000s with the Catholics backing him. |

I may be wrong so feel free (anyone) to correct me if I am but I'm sure I heard that this was the first time he played a Pixies song live since he became 'Frank Black'.

Just because they are able to distinguish good songs from bad, Jop, doesn't mean their eyes are capable of the same feats. :)

i love you guys but seriously, suck my balls
those of who weren't in diapers when the Yellow album came out know that the first original pressing of the cd was not orange.
also, those of us familiar with music history and the tradition of this naming convention style know that the color (white album, blue album) always refers to the album art. not the color of a compact disc released two years after the original release
