I would take a slightly younger version of Helen -- a bit closer to my own age but not quite as young as me. Late 40s, early 50s, perhaps. I would quite enjoy that.

Could be awkward. You might see Julie Bowen there on a day when her confidence levels are in the toilet.

I still say you and Sofia are going to bump into a neurotic Julie Bowen. I'd like to see you handle that encounter.

If I met any of you in McDonalds I would leave instantly, unless I was reaaaalllly desperate for a shit and then I'd try to sneak past you before any of you noticed (both on the way in and on the way out if you were still there after I had just used the conveniences). I have no idea what any of you look like, but you know what I look like so I have to vigilant about these things

i wish i had some context for this joke but it goes over my head. does it refer to the tv show? is it a joke? does Julie Bowen have an eating disorder?

i don't get out much. work all the time. the only time i really have to check my messages or surf the net is on my iphone when i'm sitting in the mens restroom. what's happening out there?

It's unlikely, but if it ever does happen then I'll only be in for a few minutes. I don't know what McDonalds are like in Mexico but in this country they make the toilets especially sticky so that you physically cannot be in there for longer than that, or else you will die of heat stroke or pleurisy. A quick waz is enough to make every gland in your body exhume itself, stop for a shite and it's bath time, everyone who looks at you on the way out thinks you're a strung out smack head who can't score.

Yeah it's totally a joke about the show. There is some friction bewtween Sofia/Gloria and Julie/Claire's characters. Julie used to think of Sofia as a golddigger for marrying her father. Plus Julie sometimes winds up in a fast food joint after suffering a humiliation.

You could catch up on the show during visits to the can, no?

is that how they get the mayo?

I took my kids to McDonalds for the first time in years yesterday. I had actually forgotten what to do,the range of choices, the bombardment of questions. Weird feeling. Guess I'm a country bumpkin now.

*splutter* What an incredibly interesting photo...

I'd take some displaced former Brazilian rain forest tribal folk to McD's, to see how diminishing trees = fast food fun!
