I was a very active collector of live/rare recordings from around '97 thru '03. I recently ripped my Frank Black and Pixies cdrs to my external hard drive(s). Looking for a good home for the discs. There's probably about 90 Frank Black discs and 40 Pixies. Quality/source/rareness varies, obviously. Some great stuff, many hours of listening pleasure. I don't have a list of everything, and would rather deal with it all in one shot. Discs only, but I've got typed out tracklists/notes for the majority of them that I can email you.
For shipping cost reasons, US buyer only, sorry. Asking $50 total paypal'd.. sound ok? That should cover shipping and a bit left over for an extravagant night on the town.
Whoever gets these is encouraged to share them however they want.. megaupload, dimeadozen, whatever.
email me of interested.
thanks

edit: it's now been spoken for.

Is that the list?

http://defgav.com/trade/fbpix.html

That's impressive... but I don't live in the USA either. :(

Yeah, that link is my trade list. But not all that is included in this lot. I gave away much of that when I moved a couple years ago. And I think there are a couple curiosities in the lot that aren't on that list.

I still haven't gotten any interest from a US-based fan, so I guess I'm open to take offers from non-US folks. Shoot me an email with an offer if interested. It'd have to at least cover shipping cost and paypal fee.

well, the package arrived.
it's huge.
if there's any requests as to what people would like to hear i could start there...
seems like as good a place to start as any.
for anything that people want I'll upload the flac (or mp3 of thats all there is) to both dimeadozen and megaupload or someother place at the same time.

lots of ideas from the link denis posted and the related pages.

well I started uploading some to dimeadozen.org over the weekend.
got through 3 of them.

here they are:
http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=381465
Frank Black
Moe's Cafe, Seattle, USA
1996-04-22

Lineage: mic > Sony WMD7 > cd-r (master) > EAC v0.99 prebeta 5 (Secure Mode)* > flac > you

Setlist:
01 The Marsist
02 Superabound
03 Brackish Boy
04 Creature Crawling (abandoned)
05 Jesus Was Right
06 Freedom Rock
07 Adda Lee
08 Headache
09 Calistan
10 Whatever Happened To Pong?
11 Thalassocracy
12 Last Stand Of Shazed Andleeb
13 You Ain't Me
14 Fazer Eyes
15 Bad Wicked World
16 Dance War
17 Los Angeles
18 You Never Heard About Me
19 Two Reelers
20 Kicked In The Taco
21 Abstract Plain
22 Big Red
23 Men In Black
24 Czar
25 Ten Percenter
26 Pray a Little Faster
27 White Noise Maker
28 Announcement

Length: 87:10

Info:
I'm uploading this because roman79 upped a version recently which had some issues. This is version is complete and issue-free. This version is also of a higher quality. And very good quality it is too. One of the best audience recordings you'll hear of frank at any stage of his career.

My copy came as part of a very extensive (100+ cd's) collection of Frank Black and Pixies recordings I have recently acquired from a long-time collector. Most of the Frank stuff has not seen much circulation, and I will endeavor to get through some/most of it in time.

* for some reason EAC didn't like the final track (Announcement). It would abort the copy process. Doing a "test" worked fine, but the actual rip would fail at the 3:30 mark. No error message, it would just fail. So I ripped this last one using Foobar. Odd. Never had EAC behave like that before. I have listened to the track countless times and it has ripped 100% fine. I have included the log files for completeness.

Enjoy,
einzack (2011-11-12)

Length: 145:22

Info: Mammoth 38 song set from Frank and the Catholics. Very decent sound quality throughout. So hard to make things out is cut in the middle as the minidisc is changed out. There are numerous cuts between tracks after that as taper obviously paused recording to quarantee all the gig was recorded. Some tracks missing couple seconds off beginning and/or end because of this. Set includes "I Will Run After You" which was very rarely performed in 2001.
My copy came as part of a very extensive (100+ cd's) collection of Frank Black and Pixies recordings I have recently acquired from a long-time collector. Most of the Frank stuff has not seen much circulation, and I will endeavor to get through some/most of it in time.

Same for me, definitely would have considered buying this.

But benji is one of the most generous forumers when it come to sharing (as we've already seen countless times) so the collection is in good hands and I'm sure everyone will benefit!

Good work on all the uploads benji, not just now but over the years. [/thumbsup]

a great one from '94 this one - 3 days after teenager was released.
1/2 solo electric, 1/2 band:

http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=382260
Frank Black
McCabe's, Santa Monica, USA
1994-05-27 (Late Show)

Lineage: ? > cd-r (unknown gen) > EAC v0.99 prebeta 5 (Secure Mode) > flac > you

Setlist:
(Solo)
01 Handyman
02 Headache
03 Whatever Happened To Pong?
04 Old Black Dawning
05 The Man Who Was Too Loud
06 I Heard Ramona Sing
07 Sir Rockaby
08 This Is Where I Belong
09 White Noise Maker
10 Brackish Boy
11 At The End Of The World
12 Adda Lee
13 Space Is Gonna Do Me Good
14 Freedom Rock
(Band)
15 Oddballs
16 Two Spaces
17 Hate Me
18 Men In Black
19 Calistan
20 Czar
21 Superabound
22 Big Red
23 Fu Manchu
24 Vanishing Spies
25 Ten Percenter
26 Thalassocracy
27 Two Reelers
28 Bad Wicked World
29 Hostess With The Mostest

Length: 82:44

Info: A very good show this one - quality is very good, and alot of banter. Frank starts playing a solo electric set. He is then joined by his band (Eric Drew Feldman - bass, Nick Vincent - drums, Lyle Workman - guitar).
Teenager Of The Year was released 3 days prior (on May 24th 1994) so he plays most of the album - perhaps this was the album release party?
Frank talks about the songs a lot, introducing almost every one, which makes for a great show. They played 2 shows at McCabes that day, and this is the 2nd show.

Enjoy,
einzack (2011-11-18)

no worries. if you saw the size of the pile i've got, you'd see how long i've got to go.

i haven't uploaded any to a non-dimeadozen source (except for the peel session) yet.
is there still some interest in that - if not, i won't bother and leave everything dime-only....

dimeadozen isn't an invite site. you have to be a member to use it.
go to the signup page. if it tells you there are no places available, just sit there for a few minutes refreshing the page. they purge unused accounts constantly, so if you refresh the page for a few mins, an account will become available.
and rest, if history.

let us know how ya go - i'm away for a few days so can't put the moe's cafe one anywhere yet, but if you've had no luck, or inclination, by the time i get back i'll put it on megaupload....it is a great wee show.

Can i Put my 2 cents worth in for some of the radio sessions from the collection

below are just some of the radio sessions i dont have and may appear on the cd collection (as there in his trade list), but it seems keeping up with this blokes performances on the radio is a difficult thing

it might be a bit tedious uploading all of these things to dime as there so small, so maybe a big megaupload file perhaps? even just one of these sessions would be appreciated
