I hope any FB.net members who live in, or have relatives / family / friends in Japan are safe today. Seeing some of the footage coming out of there is genuinely terrifying.
This looks like one of the biggest natural disasters in years, and possibly the biggest earthquake Japan has ever seen. A truly dreadful day for the people of Japan and its surrounding Islands.

Stuart, hope you're alright over there.

isn't Stuart in China?

The footage is pretty horrific, let's hope they manage to get the nuclear reactors under control.

I thought it was Japan, hopefully you're right. He's definitely not here.

Yeah, what a terrifying experience it must be over there. I drove to work with the window open this morning thinking that even this simple act is something that would have to be thought about seriously in the area of the reactor. I'm not against nuclear power, and the power plants there took a beating to be sure - record-setting earthquake followed promptly by tsunamis - but it seems like we have better technology already available that would've made the situation a lot easier to control. So much for cutting costs. It makes me angry, I can only imagine how the Japanese must feel.
