I want to play with Frank Black in my living room. It's not a huge room but it'll do. Just a couple of acoustic guitars. It would be laid back for sure and I will supply the wine!!! Light on the Pixies (not that they aren't great but he must be getting tired of the set lists) and heavy on the rest!!!! |

I think it's also very thoughtful that you are planning to go light on the Pixies. Charles should feel lucky to get kidnapped by such a considerate nutcase. He's even going to get free wine.

By "living room", I guess you mean "basement", right?

I'm honestly trying to imagine how this scenario -- going to the house of someone I assume he doesn't know and playing his songs with that someone -- could be made appealing to the man himself.
I haven't even been able to muster up the courage to say hello to the man himself on the several occasions I've been in his presence, since there's no way to verbally express what his music means to me (blah blah blah), and I know I'd just come off sounding like a fool. And this is a man who does not seem to suffer fools gladly.
So the thought of pitching this living room gig to him... well, gosh, good luck with it, I guess. |

Frank Black is such a normal guy, I dont know why people'd want to meet him. Just listen to the records and get some friends! Charles' personality is the best vaccine for starification, that shitty way everybody is kind of acting his own life like a star or a reality show. I always loved the fact the pixies are boring on stage, it's like "What did you expected? Get yourself a life, you immature fan!" Bunuel's movies have the same effect on me. It makes me think "OK, let's stop admiring somebody else, let's do something myself". Freedom rocks!

I should want to shake hands with Mr. Belvedere, I shouldn't want to grab a lock of his hair. I should want to send him a fan letter telling him how good he was in the episode where he teaches everyone how to cook, but I shouldn't want to type the letter on a death certificate. I should like watching "Mr. Belvedere" a lot, but I shouldn't have to masturbate at the end of every episode. |

True story....I live near Eugene OR and have a buddy who was randomly in touch with FB's p.a. at one point. My buddy wanted to give me his number (since I know most of FB's catalogue without ever looking at a tab), but I was like 'nooooooooooooooo thanks'. |
