OK it's been a few years since we did favorites lists of Charles Thompson songs. He's made a truckload of new albums since then so there's much more to choose from this time round. Remember to choose songs from any stage of his career. I'm guessing the songs that'll appear on lists most frequently are Catholics era songs but who knows? Top tens, or top twenties if you need to like me.

I'll start, in broad order of preference but subject to change at the press of a remote control (except for #1)

1. Dead - Pixies
2. Vamos - Pixies
3. St Francis Dam Disaster - Catholics
4. Steak N Sabre - Catholics
5. Something Against You - Pixies
6. Tight Black Rubber - Black Francis
7. Los Angeles - Frank
8. Wild Son - Black Francis
9. End of Miles - Catholics
10. Ed Is Dead - Pixies
11. Caribou - Pixies
12. California Bound - Catholics
13. When They Come To Murder Me - Black Francis
14. Cult of Ray - Frank
15. Your Mouth Into Mine - Black Francis
16. Stars - Black Francis
17. Pure Denizen - Frank
18. Bluefinger - Black Francis
19. Fast Man - Frank
20. (Do What You Want) Gyaneshwar - Frank

I left songs like these out. I'm an idiot

Oh My Golly! - Pixies
Subbacultcha - Pixies
I Bleed - Pixies
Planet of Sound - Pixies
Parry The Wind - Frank
Places Named After Numbers - Frank
Calistan - Frank
Thalassocracy - Frank
Abstract Plain - Frank
Superabound - Frank
Big Red - Frank
Honeycomb - Frank
Don't Get Me Wrong - Frank
She's My Way - Frank
Elijah - Frank
All My Ghosts - Catholics
The Man Who Was Too Loud - Catholics
Pray a Little Faster - Catholics
You Never Heard About Me - Catholics
Living on Soul - Catholics
Pan American Highway - Catholics
Pray For The Girls - Catholics
I've Seen Your Picture - Catholics
Bullet - Catholics
Dog In The Sand - Catholics
South Bay - Catholics
So Hard To Make Things Out - Catholics
Western Star - Catholics
Massif Centrale - Catholics
O My Tidy Sum - Black Francis
Six Legged Man - Black Francis

In these austere times I'm wondering if the government shouldn't just get more involved and introduce a dumbass tax on Frankfans continuing to evade declaring certain gems.

I'm gonna make sure not to omit these on my tax return 2010/11

Rock-a-my-soul
Heloise
Skeleton Man
Jaina Blues

No way Jose!! Heloise is a great track. I never really liked the scene but it has some great lyrics and i like the driving energy of it.

Jose - stick with it, its one of my favourites. Has to be played loud.

Especially when it gets to this bit

Hear me oh, God I'm still down at the convent

Franks best falsetto in my opinion. Man i miss the Catholics.
