I'm a huge fan of The Band, and I've been on a kick lately. I've actually been listening to Levon Helm's most recent solo album, Electric Dirt lately, and holy shit is it good. It's like a long lost album by The Band. It's easily as good as any of The Band's first three. Thoughts? Am I on my own? How bout some Band love!

I don't want you to be on your own.

I like The Band, but mostly in a driving in the car on a hot summer day kind of way.
I did see Levon Helm on Letterman maybe about a year ago and he and his band were very impressive.

I remember my dad listening to them a bit when I was a kid in the '70s. I've always loved "The Weight".

I've been meaning to check out their early stuff. Thanks for the reminder.

No problem. The self titled album, The Band, is their best IMO. It's their second album. If you like that, move on to Music From The Big Pink and Stage Fright. The Basement Tapes with Bob Dylan is pretty awesome too - quirky as hell.
