The chorus is amazingly catchy and a pleasure to play.

He never seems to run out of cool progressions.
And it's like as soon as I know it, I think it's so simple why the hell didn't I think of it.
That's why he's the man and I'm just me. heh.
Hope the weathers nice in Brum. It is here up Junction 13.

That's fantastic work, thanks!

G# minor seems to work in the chorus as well.

Definitely. The flow of the chords makes it natural to jump to a minor.
I always get caught out by fb chords like that. To minor or not to minor.

Oh, and suspended chords I rarely note down. But there's always one floating around somewhere.

I've been playing it all afternoon now! Sounds like a humbucker guitar on the record (maybe that SG in that picture?)

You'd know more about that than me. You're the forum guitar tech geek!! ;) I bet you can tell by sound if the body has been smoked, too.

It'd be neat to see him play the SG live. I've a video where he straps on his Jaguar and for some geeky reason it sends shivers.

Haha, only since Doog doesn't post here much anymore!

Just sat down with a Telecaster and played along, but it sounded more like the record when I played it on my Jagmaster.

Agreeing on the G# minor front - but also I am leaning towards an E instead of the last chorus G#. Thoughts?

Let's tackle 'Lake of Sin' next. I'm having a hard time with that one.
