sumi, quatchi, and miga are growing on me..
i really liked parts of the opening ceremonies- kd lang's version of leonard cohen's hallelujah...and the opera singer performing the olympic hymn was very impressive.

The awesomeness of kd lang (was she barefoot?) almost made up for all that northern spirit bear silliness. (Sorry, Fu!)
I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

yes, she was barefoot! and was that real snow on the ground? i did like the northern spirit bear and the joni mitchell part where that guy (or girl?) was flying over the prairies.
seems like the british press is very critical (whiny) of the olympic games. any thoughts from the british forum members? do people take the press somewhat seriously or is it merely entertainment?

there is a pretty good hockey rivalry between the US and Canada. in the world juniors this year the US beat Canada in the final. it is very likely that the game today will be the highest watched sports program in canadian history.
