looks pretty scalper-ish, and definitely not 'official' in any way. |

They definitely want to make it as hard as possible to get these tickets.
I post all the info online (pixiesmusic, facebook, myspace, twitter, etc), and as soon as I get the info from management, ticketmaster, live nation, etc, i blast it out to those sites. |

I saw a great Pearl Jam Voters 4 Choice show at Constitution Hall back in '98. It's a nice venue with great sound. |

Just in case not everyone knows, a 2nd DC night got added. Whether it's sold out or not, I have no idea. |

Update: it's not. At least not as of now. I did a test and there's some seats (quite bad seats, but hey, it's seats nonetheless) left. |

gruvr - PIXIES tickets for New York on November 26th.
eBay - 2 Pixies Tickets 11/4/09 (Los Angeles) SOLD OUT.
BrooklynVegan - Bad Lieutenant (Bernard Sumner) playing Joy Division, New Order & other songs @ Webster Hall & at all 4 Pixies shows?
San Jose Mercury News - Latest concert trend: Classic album, from start to finish.
...Several other acts have joined the game — and, seemingly, they're all headed to the Bay Area in the next few weeks. Devo, the Pixies, Echo & the Bunnymen and Steely Dan are all scheduled to re-create landmark albums during local gigs. Here's a breakdown:...
...Pixies
Performing...: 1989's "Doolittle"
Local dates: 8 p.m. Nov. 8-10, Fox Theater, 1807 Telegraph Ave., Oakland. Tickets are $49.50-$64.50. Contact: 800- 745-3000 or www.apeconcerts.com.
Why you should care: It's probably impossible to list all the bands directly influenced by the Pixies. Nirvana, Blur, Weezer and Radiohead are among the biggest. Working alongside R.E.M., Husker Du and the Throwing Muses in the '80s, the Pixies helped ignite the alt-rock explosion of the early '90s.
The group's reunion in 2004, which followed an 11-year hiatus, was a major deal. Yet, the novelty of the reunion has worn off. After all, Pixies 2.0 has been around nearly as long as the original model, and it has yet to produce a new album. Instead, the band's stirring up excitement by playing "Doolittle" in its entirety on this tour.
The Gil Norton-produced "Doolittle" was the Pixies' second full-length album and its crowning achievement. It can't truly be called groundbreaking — the ground was broken with the Pixies' previous album, 1988's "Surfer Rosa" — but it certainly changed the course of pop history. Mainly, it helped popularize the loud-soft-loud musical dynamic that would later make Nirvana the hottest band in the world. Plus, basically every song on "Doolittle" is a keeper.
How it will sound in concert: Pretty much like any other Pixies' concert — with a slightly better set list.
Download these tracks: "Debaser," "Here Comes Your Man," "Monkey Gone to Heaven"
What they should play next tour: "Surfer Rosa"...
The Examiner - Live Nation announces 2 for 1 concert tickets .
Upcoming shows at the Fillmore in Denver, CO include: Dethklok with Mastadon, Converge and High on Fire; All That Remains with Lacuna Coil; Matisyahu; Five Finger Death Punch with Shadows Fall and OTEP; Bassnectar; Chevelle; Rob Zombie; The Pixies; and others. |

Except that REM and Husker Du both formed about 6 years before the Pixies. |

I believe that Throwing Muses were also formed years before the Pixies.

Nice write-up. I'm glad they're playing the Doolittle B-Sides...I love Manta Ray. I watched a youtube clip of Into the White from this tour; that's certainly a lot of smoke pouring across the stage. That's another one of my favorite songs, good it's back in the set.

Do you think they're getting bored playing nearly the same show every night? Do you think they'll mix in a lot of new songs for the encores & pre-Doolittle part when they play New York?
I loved that they mixed the sets up back in 04.

If they do decide on a Bossa tour next year, I think the slight change of sound for that album could re-energize them.

update from PixiesMusic.com - but why I'm posting it here is I'm wondering aloud why they're launching another website this year:
Happy New Year from PixiesMusic.com! 2009 was great for the Pixies, and 2010 is shaping up to be amazing as well!
Here's what's going on:
Australia and New Zealand! - Everyone had so much fun the last time the Pixies played Australia, they decided to do it again, this time adding stops in New Zealand, too. The tour starts March 12th in New Zealand, and continues to Australia through the end of the month. Some shows are already sold out, but a few shows have tickets available HERE.
Europe! - Dates for May and June keep getting added! With stops in Spain, Belgium, France, Italy and Israel, expect a busy summer of touring for the band. See a complete list of dates (dating all the way back to the 80's!) in the PixiesMusic.com LIVE section.
Doolittle Tour Live CDs - Nearly all of the Doolittle shows were professionally recorded, mixed and mastered. They sound amazing. Did you attend? Wish you did? These pristine live recordings are available now at http://www.doolittlelive.com.
Official Sites - When the Pixies got back together in 2004, they had no official presence online. Fan sites did an amazing job of spreading the word about what was going on, but it's nice to be where we are, entering 2010, with all kinds of official Pixies news sources, too. Here's the official list. And watch for a brand new PixiesMusic.com site in the coming weeks.
www.pixiesmusic.com www.twitter.com/pixies www.myspace.com/pixies www.facebook.com/pages/PIXIES/22939707441
That's all for now. Thanks for the support!
- PixiesMusic.com
PS -- Did you know that David and Joey have a side project called The Everybody? They do, and they really want to make music with you. Yes, for real. JOIN THE BAND.
