At 'The Space' in Salem first show of the tour.

Finally I'm in town when the man comes around! Nice article in the local paper -

Good lookin' out, badronald.

Maybe I'll hit this show instead of schlepping from Portland to Eugene on Sunday night, which was my original plan. Doubtful I could pull off both. Though I do have tickets for the Eugene show already. Hmm...

The tiny club was packed, by the end the walls were sweating profusely. Violet came on stage announcing she had her Blackberry and invited us to text them. She was looking hot, that Charles is a lucky guy. They played about an hour, all GD songes except the Cure cover. While there seemed to be a few technical issues on stage, the GD songs really came to life, in particular The Long Song and Ermesinde; for me anyway. The crowd was pretty lively. Some nice hollerin' from BF, or as V introduced him - Black Fucking Francis. By the way - they really work together well on stage; quite relaxed for their first performance as Grand Duchy. Right afterwards I saw BF was outside the club chatting with some fans, probably V too but I didn't see her. Good times - don't miss it.

Set List:
1. come on over to my house
2. a strange day
3. lovesick
4. break the angels
5. seeing stars
6. ermesinde
7. the long song
8. black suit
9. volcano
10. fort wayne

I have the same question as Daisy Girl. Did they extend the songs or do different arrangements? Long intros/outros?

Well I'm not as familiar with these songs yet but the arrangements seemed more or less like the album, but with a heavier edge from the guitar & drums.

No merch sales that I saw - too bad, I was prepared to consume some Grand Duchy wares.

I hope next shows will be taped, I'd like to hear them live.
I listened to the album again today and I really, really, REALLY don't like it. Like, at all. I skipped every track past the first one. But I have a feeling it has some live potential.
Also, Violet looks hot on the pics.

Thanks Badronald. I guess it's too soon in their band lifespan to change arrangements. I haven't even heard the album, I've a feeling I'm not going to like it.

Danjersey---I don't understand why you'd quote my question. I acknowledge the similarity to DaisyGirl's.

Arm, I went through and cleaned up a whole schwack of duplicate posts by you (in addition to others, myself included) from a glitch with our server. So he was joking about the question being asked 5 times.
