If you went away, called it all a day, say that it was through
'Cause a new man or an old friend or a guru
'Cause you got a bit tired of me now
That I could believe
Yeah but if you do
If you leave, if you leave, if you leave, if you leave
Wouldn’t even cry, wouldn’t even try, wouldn’t even stew Wouldn’t look for another love, no
Listen if you leave, tell you what I do
If you leave .... I will run after you ...
I can't even believe or begin to express the intense excellence of this song, which resonates more and more in my soul with each passing day.
Happy hearts fall from my shaking hands

I had an odd experience this week listening to Show Me Your Tears, I said to myself "Self, there must be harder rockin' versions of these songs that you have heard." And then I listened through again and decided I'd been sniffing too much glue. The album has quiet power.
And this song is very strong. Intense! Yes, that is the correct word.
In direct contrast to "If you ever need, don't call?" |

I agree with you kathryn! "I Will Run After You" has always been a favorite. It's like a drug! I remember listening to it 20+ times in a row (no joke) because I got a sort of "high" from the emotional response it caused in me. BLD/DW has a lot of those types of songs for me... =) |

This song stirs up a lot of emotions for me as well. I can never listen to it and not think of my ex.
I do toggle back and forth as to which version is my favorite. BLD or SSMVGD? |

Black Letter Days for me. I like the two guitars in the intro.
This is another of my favourites, one of my favourites to play too. It's hard to describe how much I love this song, so I won't bother.

A question for the ages.

See, I always respected it. And over the years it has come to really resonate within my very being. I've come to understand What Frank Is Talking About. I now appreciate its wisdom. It amazes me how his music keeps doing that. You think you have figured something out and then - blam! Whole new level.

This song doesn't remind me of any exes, but gives me the creeps thinking about if my wife were ever to leave me. I don't like those thoughts, but i love this song.

Same thing here. I never felt this way before, so in love, and this song brings out all kinds of unwarranted, pre-emptive freakiness.

Omigod, I can't stop laughing. No. A meat-eater, actually. A dreamy, dreamy meat-eater. I should go in the vegan thread for an update, you think?
Sorry to go off-topic.
Song good. Frank great.
