Not a shot at Noisy. An actual "issue" here at the house. Friends who are vegans are coming up for the weekend and I cannot friggin figure out how to feed them. To be fair they are neither humourless nor preachy.
Anybody here vegan (besides Dave)? Anybody have any suggestions as to what to feed them?
Thanks.
P.S. I was vegan for the longest 2 months of my life.

tell them to cook their own food, and then drink a full glass of delicious cow's milk in front of them. don't forget to leave a milk moustache, which you will of course have to wipe away with a big lick of the lips. followed by an "mmmmm! that's so good. i love cow's milk. don't you? oh sorry, i forgot, you're vegans. haha. have some cheese instead. whoops!"

according to reliable online sources, the montreal style bagels have egg in them, but new york style contains neither.

My mother had been making deep-fried vegetables for a while. It
may have been the greatest food in history.
I'm not sure what grows out there on the plains of Vega.

Things I like better without butter: Bread. Corn.
Corn with cayenne pepper, that is a freakin' awesome. Curry and
cayenne are so much hotter without dairy. |

Did you ask them what they normally eat, Kathryn? I'm sure this isn't very helpful, and you already have them on the list, but Soya milk, veg and protein mix stuff are a good place to start!

They eat and cook amazing stuff, Carl. I never eat as well as I do when they're doing the cooking. But I can't/won't make vegan gourmet meals from scratch and as the hostess I can't ask them to cook. I'm thinking lots of fruit salad, homemade soup and some aforementioned soy product. Thanks again.

They did. God bless them, they showed up with a list of suitable places. We had a better than good but ridiculously overpriced vegan meal. Then they bust out the wine and in the morning let me sleep in, fed my kid, and brought me non-vegan breakfast in bed. I love the vegans.

I've tried to be a vegetarian before (vegan is out of the question) but i can never do it. Animals taste too good. I do like Boca burgers.
