In reference to the term Zugzwang, used in Robert Onion (which has been talked about here before), just thought you might be interested to know of a novel by that name that was recently released. Written by Ronan Bennett, it is apparently a political thriller set in St. Petersburg in 1914, and features a chess tournament.

good old FB days...
i just read alice in wonderland and alice through the looking-glass. the book ends with a poem which is structured like the song "robert onion". altotgether, the first letters of each line spell out the name "alice pleasence lidell". also, there are always three lines connected - just like in robert onion
robert lead me into thought (chords: E H) onion layers wait for you (G C) beauty of eternal fields (F# H)
then the chord-pattern starts again. its the same with the structure in the "alice" poem.
FB has read alice - in on of the Cult-of-Ray - songs, he refers to a "snark" which is a figure out of the book.

I know Frank writes with some odd progressions, but I don't think he's invented an 'H' quite yet. |

Is "pleasence" an intentional typo? I'm not judging anyone. Just interested in knowing what, if any, artistic point there would be of Carroll's intentionally misspelled word; maybe the acrostic just looked better that way?
Or maybe Two Reelers made a typo. In which case I will have lost total respect for him, send him death threats, and make a mental note to vote him off immediately in the forthcoming Forum Members Named After a Track 10 on an FB Album Survivor. |

oh,
a 'H' is a 'B' (old convention/spelling in germany/austria - don't ask me why.)
and, yes, pleasence was my typo (but a mental one). it is pleasance, of course. my life is an endless chain of faults and mishappings.

I'm 100% positive.
Flats are normally done by appending -es to the note name. So, on your chart above, Db would actually be Des, Eb would be Es, etc. But Bb for whatever reason is just B. |

Actually, "The Hunting of the Snark" is a poem by Lewis Carroll that isn't directly related to either of the Alice books. But it's likely that anyone who's read "Snark" has read the Alice books as well.
