This is a pretty random question. I got that Christmass album a while ago. I want to know if the live solo stuff was recorded on the "house" system or with the outfit he got to record the albums. Thank you, Lee Roy
hey, range finder. i am dumb and don't know what you mean by "house" system. I don't remember for sure but weren't some of the songs recorded in a hotel room? I don't know if that helps.
Lee Roy means the house system of the club he was playing or the machine he uses to make 'recorded live'-albums. One thing I know is that it takes hours to set up his mobile studio (he said it in an interview) so I would guess that they didn't use it to record some concerts. Probably just some extra mics and the soundboard of the club. There is a pretty solid explanation of the hotelroom-songs here on the forum somewhere (maybe also in the song database on the site). Most of the songs were recorded with DI's, a Neumann and a Digital Audio Workstation (just his iMac-computer I think).
