OK, I can't stop thinking about the WOW Hall show- particularly the sweet tone that BF's guitar had! Did anyone notice or know his rig/setup for this tour. I assume its a VOX he was playing his tele through, but I have the same setup and he must be using some tone pedals. I would have asked him myself as he has always been very approachable at the WOW Hall shows, but I think with his cold and being home, he just wanted to chill. He left out the back door with Violet upon leaving the stage and was gone. Help a brotha out!

The Vintage tele's Older Wood, Possibly the Kind of AC 30. Their were Several Different ones Made through the History of the Amp. Back in the Catholic Days I Know He Used Some Kind of Stomp Box. It Didn't Have Any Writing on it other than Chucky's Pedal.

He seems to have about three Teles that have got a look in the most in recent years. The blonde and white pickguard one that emerged last week saw a lot of action on the initial Pixies reunion, not to mention the vintage 52 style Tele.

Yeah, but are the pickups on these different? It seems like wood, indv. instruments, etc. do account for some sound differences, but I'm talking about a completely different guitar sound than say the Frank Black 93-03 stuff or even the catholics/pixies reunion sound....

I'd be surprised if they were making all that difference. He's using several of those Vox stacks, but then he's the sole guitar player, which might explain the bigger sound that expected.

To be honest, it'd be great if the Man himself would clear things up from time to time.

Yes, that would cool. I play through a Tele/AC-30 combo most of the time and something sounds very different and hollow (but in a good way) about the sound I was hearing that night. Thanks for your input!

Often the clean sounds have light gain on them, certainly 'Captain Pasty' on the record, at least. It's a pleasing effect.

As of Monday and Tuesday night in Los Angeles, he is using a Klon Centaur overdrive pedal between the Tele and the Vox!
