Last summer i made a thread saying, wouldn't it be cool if frank put out an official live disc? Well our prayers were answered with christmas.
I do have another idea for something that could be released whenever, since the frank black name is dead, why not a frank black boxset? It could contain discs of B-sides and demos. This could be for the completist in all of us, we could get oddballs, one more hit..., and snake oil on cd, but not neccessarily as those. Since those three cds dont even contain all of Frank's b-sides and rarities, perhaps a 2 or 3 disc set of rarities could be released? The first two discs could be full of b-sides, and studio outtakes that were never released, and if 2 cds could not contain all this than a third disc could be used for the remainders and a bunch of cool little demos. Put some liner notes in there and you'll have every frank black fan drooling.
What do you guys think of the idea? |

I think that your idea rocks. I like the part about the studio outtakes that have never been released. It would be nice to have some of that other stuff in one place!
But, I want Grand Duchy first :)

best idea ever. whenever i really like a band i always have to have every song they ever wrote. 
he could re-record those 4 "college demo" songs (Keeping in Time, Draw Attention, Gemini, and Silhouette). That would be so awesome! having all of those on cd (snake oil & one more road i mean) since i don't use itunes.
also, whatever happened with that "Rabbit Hole" song?

A completist thing would be terrific. Of course, if you really wanted to complete your discography, I'm sure a thorough search of online stores would do the trick. Or you could travel around the world visiting every indie/rarity record store! ;)
Actually, I remember the thrill of finding hard-to-get stuff in Holland, including FB!!

| Problem is, Oddballs is out of print, and one more and snake oil arent issued on cd. I guess collecting every single is an option, but a pricey and near impossible one, plus, theyre all in little itty cds instead of full length cds, y'know? |

Wouldn't it be cool that the mini box set actually had not just tracks but actually had an re-issue of Oddballs and a first-time hard copy issue of Snake Oil and then a separate cd of random live/studio out takes?

but isn't grand duchy a given for the next fb release? i just assumed so, but you know when that happens.

I would be pretty keen to get the tracks that were on the pod casts, and those studio out takes...it would be pretty special...
as for all the b-sides and stuff, I would have thought that you can pick up all the singles pretty cheap on amazon uk. |
