Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but I didn't see any threads. Anyway Frank was on XFM tonight playing some of his favourite tracks/chatting. You can get it here (open the player and go the "residency" show - http://www.xfm.co.uk/Article.asp?b=onair&id=418763

Hahaha, he plays The Breeders, maybe the "fuck them" comments mentioned in another thread are perhaps not as pointed.

Some interesting stuff in there. In episode three he says he's going to do a video with Moby. That is, Moby directing a Black Francis video. Or something of the sort.

I'm surprised Carl hasn't run up the flag on this yet! :)

Here are abridged versions of the shows in mp3 format. The abridged versions are all that XFM is making available, as far as I can tell. Frank's intros are all here, but it's just clips of each song.

Husker Du 'Celebrated Summer'
Roxy Music 'Same Old Scene'
Paul Westerberg 'World Class Fad'
Seu George 'Quicksand'
The Hives 'Hate To Say I Told You So'
Neil Young & Crazy Horse 'Grandpa's Interview'
The Pixies 'The Navaho Know'

Episode 2 - September 9

Black Francis 'Threshold Apprehension'
The Good, The Bad And The Queen 'The Bunting Song'
Howlin Wolf 'I Ask For Water'
Sugar 'You Can't Change My Mind'
The Breeders 'Cannonball'
Mark Knopfler 'Postcards From Paraguay'
Carbon Silicon 'Falungone Love Song'
Iggy Pop 'How Do You Fix A Broken Heart'
The Rapture 'House Of Jealous Lovers'
My Morning Jacket 'Gideon'
Thom Yorke 'The Eraser'
The Pixies 'Bam Thwok'

Episode 3 - September 16

Pixies 'The Happening'
Grandaddy 'Under The Western Freeway'
Mudhoney 'Suck You Dry'
Hugh Cornell 'Black Hair, Black Eyes, Black Suit'
Ryan Adams 'New York, New York'
Jethro Tull 'We Used To Know'
LCD Soundsystem 'Tribulations'
Blur 'Tender'
Justin Timberlake 'Sexy Back'
Art Brut 'Jealous Guy'
Wilco 'Ashes Of American Flags'
Frank Black & The Catholics 'Everything Is New'

Episode 4 - September 23

Peter, Bjorn & John 'Big Black Coffin'
Pixies 'Debaser'
The Good, The Bad & The Queen 'Herculean'
The Flaming Lips 'Race For The Prize'
The Stranglers 'Always The Sun'
Grant Lee Buffalo 'Honey Don't Think'
The Libertines 'The Good Old Days'
Moby 'We Are All Made Of Stars'
At The Drive In 'One Armed Scissor'
Elliott Smith 'Summer Of Sam'
Bryan Ferry 'Positively 4th Street'
Bob Dylan 'Tweedle Dum And Tweedle Dee'
Frank Black 'Men In Back'

Episode 5 - September 30

Pixies 'Here Comes Your Man'
Lambchop 'Up With People'
Herman Brodt 'Saturday Night'
Husker Du 'Makes No Sense At All'
Steel Pulse 'Dem A Wolf'
Tom Waits 'Chocolate Jesus'
My Dad Is Dead 'Don't Look Now'
The Fall 'Reformation'
The Good, The Bad & The Queen 'Kingdom Of Doom'
Bob Dylan 'Hurricane'

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

Hey, I'm just article man!

Surprizing choice, The Navajo Know! Not one of my favorites, and yet it has it's appeal, sort of 1920's jazz! I actually have Mudhoney's Suck You Dry on 7".

I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of the songs were chosen or influenced by XFM. Some of them seem like Frank choices and others seem a bit out of place. To be honest you'd kind of expect that, if someone told me to list 50 different songs which I like (and all from different bands) I think I'd need some help too.
