....is a huge bonus on Bluefinger.
It's gratifying to have Frank in another legendary male/female vocal combo after all these years.
What Violet does on Angels and Threshhold is as kickass as the double-punch he and Kim delivered on Subbacultcha and Tame.
I love how versatile her contributions are. The etheric groove she lays down at the end of Angels differs from her Breederesque vocals on Threshold. For me, Violet's voice makes the title track and it's hard to imagine Discotheque without her.

Her voice is also what makes "Fort Wayne" so sweet.
Don't know about legendary, though. Seems a bit premature, yeah?
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Coasty, go to your mp3 or CD player and put on Threshold Apprehension. Do this immediately. Thank you.

The album is definitely better for having Violet singng on it. My favourites are Threshold and Bluefinger. I think her voice adds a lot to those tracks especially, but they're all great.
In terms of FB I think this album for me has been the 'instant classic' (oxymoron?), the one I just 'got' as soon as I heard it. A major part of that is to do with Violet's backing vocals, it's just such a great combination.

I agree... it's hard to imagine Bluefinger with out her. I love the whole album... the edginess, the concept of course bf/fb but she is the one that really makes it stand out.

Violet is more than the flower of fertility if you ask me she makes this album what it is. I'm very happy that she's included on this record and I hope she will be prominent on future releases

I love bluefinger : songs, sound (particulary drums and bass), choir, funny and tender artwork. Thanks again and again, thanks for these new songs they are now engraved in my brain and in my heart!
But now.... but now i'm waiting for Grand Dutchy !!!!! So Violet, could you please give us some news about it ? I need to dream about it. "once I was playin', down in Fort Wayne... la la la la la la la....)

It just feels and sounds right, doesn't it? So natural and dare I say perfect in the world of Black. My enjoyment and wow/cool/aweish moments in songs have been heightened by Violet's presence. Long may it continue.
Though the poll on the home page suggests otherwise, I think Grand Duchy is the most exciting project conceived by the Man in YEARS (no disrespect to the past). |

She does reveal herself as quite a vocalist on Bluefinger.

I like her voice in most songs, it can be annoying in places though...I think Kim may have been a bit better...maybe...nut the frank - female voice dynamic is great to see back in action... |

I dont get that. OK, on Fort Wayne, it's a true duo. But c'mon, on Bluefinger it's just a participation (is that last one an english word or just french? I 'm too lazy to check). Each time I check FB.net forum there is someone mellow to say "Oh they're so nice together, they're so beautifull". What's the point? Maybe I'm not too much into pop star personalities. |
