I've done a few but it's been years since then. I can't remember what I used as a WAV editor. It was either a Steinberg editor I got from a friend or the editor that came with Nero. Any WAV editor should work, just to trim the silence at the beginning and end of each song and remove any bad pops. You also want to normalize if the songs are coming from multiple sources. Audacity is an open source editor you could use.
What are you trying to accomplish - are you archiving stuff that's only on vinyl, or are you trying to making digital versions of stuff so that it that sounds like it's on vinyl?
