There's gotta be somebody that knows the tab/chords for this song. I know the intro is C G F and I think the next part is just F and E, but can anybody post the rest? Much obliged... |

C G F C G F C G F
Mag ik Engels spreken?
F Em F Em F Em
Here we go!
C G F
I saw the statue of Herman Brood
C G F
It had a lump way down in its throat
C G F
That's because its heart was broke in two
Am Em Dm
He played piano really fuckin' good
Am Em Dm
West Berlin to West Hollywood
Am Em Dm
Prettier than Brando, he was punker than punk
Am Em Dm G
Slave to rock and roll, and a slave to junk
C F G Am Em Dm
Angels come to comfort you
Am Em Dm Am
Yeah they do
Em Dm G
And here they come
F Em F
They'll lead you by the hand
Em F
They'll take you down the hall
Em C G F C G F
And they will break your fall
C G F
He was no saint, but he was Dutch
C G E*
So he could paint, yeah he had the touch
C G E*
He felt the angels kiss him on the head
C G E*
Whisperin' the name that rhymes with "dead"
Am Em Dm
Now the Hilton hotel in Amsterdam
Am Em Dm
Good enough for John and Yoko, man
Am Em Dm G
Now you got the key to 902
C F G Am Em Dm
Angels come to comfort you
Am Em Dm
Here they come
Am Em Dm G
Here they come meooow!
F Em F
They'll take you by the hand
Em F
They'll lead you down the hall
Em F
And they will break your fall
I'm not 100% sure about:
the Am Em Dm sequence the E* chord (maybe just the low e string?)
Take a listen to the last few minutes of the recent Radio 1 appearance, help me out.

edit: he plays an F chord as the E* in this version. |

Looks great FBC. Only difference I hear is during the first part of the outro I think it goes C G A G#, not A#. |

Looks good, definitely going to try this tomorrow. I love the sound of the guitar at the "He played piano really fuckin' good" part. Great song!

It is. Click on the link I posted. Go on, I can tell you want to. Just have a listen to the first few minutes.... Go onnn,
I'm still trying to figure out how he plays the "fucking good" part, Ziggy, to bar chord or not to bar chord. Let me know what you think.

I think the above tab works beautifully. Certainly if played with the solitary guitar. |

this is how I play the "he plays piano..." part
I play the basic pattern Am Em Dm this way : Am Aadd4 Am Aadd4 / Em Eadd4 Em Eadd4 / Dm Dadd4 Dm Dadd4
this allow you (as there is only 1 guitar playing) to have at the same time the nice "strumming effect" of the basic pattern Am Em Dm and the nice riff :
e --------------------1-3-1-3
b -1-3-1-3----------------
g -----------0-2-0-2--------
AND it's very easy to play |

Sounding fine.
It's one of those songs that I like much more when learning to play it, than on inital hearing. |

Oh yeah, definately. I have a much deeper appreciation for the song since tabbing it.
And amongst all these posts, I think we've pretty much nailed it. |

Nice, Iwas strumming this earlier and I tried out the "fucking good" part. Sounds great, S!

cheers, Carl. it was fun to work out. again, like with so much of C.T's work, it's all in the strumming. |

During the first sequence of these chords, he hesitates just after the A. Is that just a G#, too?

Could well be, I dispute not. Just that I hear an F note on the high E string which could possibly be a note still resounding round my brain from the July gig. |

"Here they come meooow!"
Why would he say meow? Does Black francis look like a cat? All... Jumpin nimbly-bimbly from tree to tree? Does he lick milk from a saucer? DO YOU SEE HIM EATING MICE?
Bahaha, Super Troopers references are the cool thing to do.
Now the cd's out I get to hear it.... oooooh this is the highlight of the cd methinks. The chords are very hard to coordinate with the singing in it with so many pauses, but fbc seems to have done good work once again :P

i'm gonna give it another shot. there's a chord in there i'm not sure about, but check back whenever and we might have an outro with oooos.
Do you want the "ooohs" tabbed too?
