i think the band record a handful of tracks (usually four) someplace and then it's sold through the iTunes Store as an EP. |

Yeah, they recorded 9 tracks at Rockhaal studios (in Luxemburg?) Friday afternoon. "We were in and out quickly", Jason told me. That's about all I know.

9 tracks, Wow very interesting! New tracks or Peel Session style reworkings of previously released stuff?
We will see soon I suppose...

It says Frank and the Boys recorded 9 songs for an upcoming digital EP. The recording happened quickly (as it always does with Frank Black). The songs were recorded at Rockhaal in Luxembourg and mixed in Los Angeles.
Is that correct, FITSy?

Ding, do you know when it's expected to appear on iTunes? Thanks for any info you can give us. We appreciate your coming around.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Don't mean to seem out of it but these are 9 new songs in addition to those on Bluefinger or there is just one new song? Either way is sweet.

I'm no marketing genius, but what good is achieved by releasing the same songs on two different releases at the same time. Won't it reduce the impact of Bluefinger? Then again, I don't buy from iTunes. |

I may be wrong, but I don't think the iTunes EP will include more than 2 or 3 songs from Bluefinger.

iTunes bonus tracks are pretty common. I'm not sure what, business-wise, it's good for (though it's obviously good for iTunes), but I'm certain everyone involved knows what they're doing.
I'm just glad to have a recording of this touring band coming up (word of the studio session being done quickly is very encouraging!) The reviews make this Euro tour sound great. Even the NEGATIVE reviews here make these shows sound great ("Too loud"? "Too much screaming"? Cool!)
If, like me, you'd prefer buying Bluefinger on CD (or vinyl, I'm hoping), you could go to iTunes and only buy the exclusive tracks. (You can just purchase iTunes bonus tracks and not the whole album, right? I haven't bought from iTunes in a long time.) |

Not so much. Like the new Social Distortion Greatest Hits disc has 2 new songs on it. One of them is an 'album only' track. |

The tracklist is slightly weird, but hey. I loved the new, 1-guitar version of Manitoba.

BTW, I think this thread is in the wrong section. Back when the forum had mods, the thread would have been moved to 'FB News'.
