i guess there are few chances that somebody else from the forum went to that concert since we were about 150 persons! the festival was empty anyway... honestly i was quite disappointed by the performance. the problem was not the absence of frank's guitar, i've been expecting that...seeing him without one of his lambs requires preparation! he could have chosen a bette playlist and mostly i had the feeling there was no music, it was some kind of a show where the singer was moving way too much! i'm not really getting what happened! Frank black songs are sooooo great and i'm such a worshipper, but right now i'm feeling so puzzled... that was a personnal opinion! (ps: sorry if there are any mistakes i the message) |

Too bad you had such a bad time at the show.
But what do you mean by saying "seeing him without one of his lambs requires preparation"?

Classic setlist or did they play some rare tracks (Fu Manchu for instance or Bad Harmony)? |

I was there too. And I wasn't disappointed at all.
I was quite happy to notice that FB will go back with a standard punk-rock way, instead of country sound!!!
It was the first i see him with not too many people, and it was good to be just in front of him (five meters at all).
I was excited by the people going crazy on some songs (such as threshold apprhension and You Can't Break a Heart and Have it and the rockafeller skank).
I try to identifie all the songs, not in the right order i think, but almost :
1. Los Angeles 2. Tight Black Rubber 3. Ten percenter 4. Your Mouth into mine 5. Massif Centrale 6. Old Black Dawning 7. Thalassocracy 8. Freedom Rock 9. Threeshold Apprehension 10. You Can't Break a Heart and Have it 11. The Rockafeller Skank 12. Remake/remodel 13. Captain Pasty 14. Manitoba 15. Dead's man curve 16. Lolita 17. Robert Onion
And what a great idea to announce the song and the end of the previous (no setlist at all) just rock'n'roll!!

It seems that Frank Black has never felt so good. His new behaving and acting on stage is simply SMART! I would have never dared to dream of seing him like this.
During the show I witnessed he conveyed an impressive amount of energy that is not likely to fade away.
Thank you Sir ! Yours for ever.
