Damn, this game series really died, just like Chevy Chase’s career

These stories hit a critical mass and then they're done. When we reach this point, it's time to call it good and start thinking about the next one. But I also think it's good to wait a few weeks before starting a new one. That increases the chance of bringing in some new writers. The more diverse the voices in this game, the richer the result. My favorite five word add on story writer is Jefrey. I hope he starts another one at some point.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

There are currently no plans to create future instalments in the 5WAOS series. This is due to falling demand and interest in the game. It has come to our attention that players no longer "give a shit", and we would like to take this in to account when considering the progression of the series. Please note that the series is currently at an end
Much Thanks, s_corp e_ntertainment 2007

I've started two threads, and I think they totaled 8 posts. And I got chewed out for being a noob in one of them. I'm too scared. I'll leave the thread starting to the experts.
I am sad to see the series go. I don't think a future reunion will tarnish the legacy of the 5 word add on story. It was a game that was ahead of its time and will grow in stature over time.

In 10 years, people will read these threads and their jaws will drop at the forward-thinking genius contained within.
You've started only two threads, Jeff? The coffee one and what else? Just two?
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Yep, only two. Folks got things covered around here. My other thread was the Weird Al Parody game, which is not one of my better moments (don't drink and start threads - I assume that's what's happened to Sean).
I know that there's probably an assload of coffee websites out there, but I really thought the people in here that have travelled and rocked, and tried to be in bands and such might share their favorite spots. If I go to a place, I'd really rather visit a local hangout or something recommended to me. Especially from a Frank Black fan, because I at least know from the start that they have good taste :)

Okay. Who's up for a re-imagined add on story? Get this: "1 word add on story" Like 5WOAS, except we do it one word at a time. Giving the game more spontaneity Register your interest here

1 might be ok, but 5 is better. With 5, you can throw a huge monkey wrench into the works when you see somebody trying to steer the story in a certain direction. With 1, you kind of lose that. Or maybe not. I guess we'd have to give it a go to find out. I'd be willing to try it, Sean.

I feel that 5WAOS has really lost it's appeal amongst players. It'll always rocket through the first page, and then cough and splutter after that. Until it stops completely. Maybe the Add on Story should be taken out of commission completely

5 is the best that mankind has come up with. Sean wants to play Frankenstein, go ahead, but you may as well call the game Crash & Burn.

If i created another 5WAOS, do you honestly believe it would be a massive success?

I think 6WAOS would be a much huger success. And it needs to have some paragraph breaks as part of the rules. Once it gets to be more than 6 or 7 sentences, the story just becomes to hard to follow. It always comes back to the story. Or is is characters? I think it's the story. Plot doesn't matter, but it has to be solid storytelling, that's the key.

I am completely behind what Jefrey says. I nominate Jefrey to start the next story, with the rules laid out at the top.

Yeah Jefrey, go ahead. Stab me in the balls. I considered the paragraphing idea around the time of 5WAOS3, i also considered main characters and pre-set plot points/ scenarios, but i felt it would be too restricting and less fun. But go ahead Jefrey, shit in my face.

I will be no ball stabber. I can't have a ball stabbing on my conscience. Now a transatlantic shit launch would be something to see, but if I miss and hit the wrong Irishman...well I'm not a very good fighter.

It's a variation of What The Fuck (WTF) In a moment of confusion or excitement, one may reverse this phrase to FTW (Fuck The What?) It may also mean "for the win"

In my high school (700 years ago), some guy had FTW in huge letters on the back of his Levi jacket. My buddies and I all figured it stood for "fuck the world." We thought he had the right attitude.
