Thought some of you might be interested, haven't seen this posted before. The Crimea are a newish British band, 'Like Lottery Winners on Acid' was the only song I knew of theirs. They've just released their second album and made it available to download in it's entirety for free from their website http://www.thecrimea.net/

I heard about it on BBC R2 and thought it must be crap if they were giving it away but it's actually pretty bloody good and growing on me with each listen. Lovely melodies and lyrics with a wistfully delinquent pop/alt.rock sound, I hear elements of Smashing Pumpkins/Grandaddy/Jesus and the Mary Chain. Anyway, it's free - hope u enjoy!

Not really picking up Jason Lytle on my Grandaddy radar other than some vaguely similar electronic beepery (is that a word?)

However not too bad. Not overly keen on the lead singer's voice - bit Madchester for me.

Presume they are hoping for income via people buying the cd or going to their gigs?

Hope you have a great time Gypsy Death. Thanks for the info, sounds like fun but I'm a northern soul and the Big Smoke's a bit far to go. Hopefully they'll tour round my way sometime soon.

Yeh, sure beepery is a word and I think you're right Bedrock Barney - that's probably why I mentioned Grandaddy. I'm not very good at making comparisons between bands but thought I should try and give some detail. Hope it wasn't too misleading!

I like the singers voice, raw but a bit fragile. I can hear Charlatans now you mention it(not a band I was ever very fond of though.)

Bombay Saphire Coma and Loop a Loop were the songs that hooked me in to the album.
