Couple from my childhood:

1. Top Trumps - I had loads of these from the 1970's and stupidly threw them away when we moved house a few years back. My kids are now enjoying the modern versions but you can't beat the classics. Bit like Doctor Who really. Tom Baker is the Doctor.

Link here for those who are not familiar with the art form that is Top trumps:

2. Old cassette compilations

I spent bloody ages putting together some carefully chosen compilations in the age of steam and before cd players. No longer possess a cassette player but would probably buy one again if I'd kept the cassettes. From memory they were full of stuff by The Spear of Destiny, The The, The Skids, Devo, Play Dead, The Fields of Nephilim, XTC, The Ruts etc etc

Let it go. Wait, yes. A ton of 45s but not the first one I ever bought - The Jungle Book EP featuring Baloo. Including the classic Bare Necessities.

I am the Cult of Ray. I've got a bee under my name and I don't care.

My Sega Mega-Drive. I've got an emulator on my computer now, but it's just not the same as having the actual console. Still got the Commodore 64 though!

I got rid of my mega drive too. But i held onto the last game that i had bought for it, "Light Crusader". I hadn't finished it, and it was the first console game i ever played that let you save your progress. If i pick up a mega drive off ebay, i can get right back into it straight away

Funny the ol Mega Drive has been mentioned today. I spent the entire afternoon trying to tune me telly into the Sega having pulled it out and dusted it off. It's all still in working order, but the bleeding telly wasn't having any of it. No Streets of Rage for me this evening.

I'd never heard of Top Trumps until Christmas, Simon and I went to this arty Christmas thingum and he got a set with the cutest monsters on. We played it over the house Christmas dinner. I enjoyed it a lot, until I lost...

And he won...

Not bitter.

I miss my old Einstein computer. No flashy Mega Drive this but I liked it.

I just regret having throw up some delicious meals after eating too much at the finest restaurant in my hometown, but I guess that's off topic.

Carl - never really went away and did try to log in every now and then but the last two years has been manic what with moving house and setting up my own business. Hopefully things have settled down a bit now so I can put more energy into important posts about Top Trumps etc etc.

I'm now trying to imagine how a trilobite could defeat a T Rex! Maybe it could out stare it or something.

I kept diaries from age 15-21. They were really detailed and contained my innermost thoughts, feelings and events of every day. Also at the end of every week I listed the songs I was into at the time (and sometimes girls I liked!). Then one day I decided to throw them all away, probably embarrassed at the thought of anyone reading them. Wish I hadn't - I'm 42 now and I can barely remember what happened last week, never mind 20 odd years ago!

Godspeed

My life between ages 16-25. 16 when I met my ex. 25 when I divorced him. I didn't even go to prom b/c he wouldn't go. He was a real butt. But I did get two wonderful kids out of him. (that is the only 2 good things he has done) Anyway, sometimes I feel like I threw away the best years of my life. But then I stop the pity party and think that my life is pretty dog gone good now. I don't throw away life now regretting the past. (or try not to anyway) As far as items thrown away, I don't know. I kinda wish I still had my barbie and ken dolls from when I was little. Thats the only 2 I had. now they have hundreds of different barbie's. Oh and I wish I hadn't threw away all my Stephen King novels that I owned. (I donated them to the goodwill so someone else could have the pleasure of reading) Now I keep every novel I read.

Everything that was cool when I was a kid I tossed quite a while ago, and now regret some of that. Please do not remind me about how much a first year original Lew Alcindor basketball card is worth....

Mine SNES was in a trunk out in the shed for 10 years. Hooked it up last weekend and it still worked. Anyone for NHL PA '93 or Madden um just Madden Football no year. Found them along with Voi Vod, DRI, SOD, Flotsam and Jetsam, Cro Mags, Leeway & Mucky Pup CD's I've not seen or missed.

That's a sweet basketball card. Looks like it's in great condition, too. Kareem is pretty much my favorite athlete ever. Except for Airplane, I love everything he's ever done.

Well, I did have it on laser disc. And I kind of wish I hadn't thrown THAT out. Those things were cool -- they weighed about 25 pounds and looked like a ginormous CD.

Anyway, no, I didn't like Kareem's performance in that movie. Nope. Not a bit.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

My girlfriend doesn't.

Wait a minute, she loves Bright Eyes, and hates Ariplane. I need to ditch this bitch.
