anybody check out the new kings of leon album yet? it's pretty good, standard for the kings. i quite like 'ragoo' possibly my favourite by them along with 'bucket'. also, the second song sounds like a pixies tune. i could just see frank wailing that one and the bass line is very kim-esque.

I'm trying really hard to like it as much as the last one. It's a grower.
I got some heaven in my head

Saw them supporting The Pix here a coupla years ago. They didn't really do much for me, maybe I'd need to give 'em a proper listen. |

I love it. I was gonna start my own topic today actually, after listening to it a lot this weekend. I think this is their best yet, as their first two got a bit boring after a while. I reckon this one will last.
Charmer is PURE Pixies. The bass, the drums, the vocal scream.. Ragoo is also my favourite, great song.

They're going downhill since the beginning. I really don't like this one, overproduced, not a catchy melody, it sounds like they spent the time jamming in the studio.

it's a cliche, but i'd have to agree. this has happened to a thousand bands before ; the bigger they get, the "bigger" the music gets, and more often than not at the expense of quality... |

I like YAYM the best, I have listened to all three. Nearly everyone I share with this disagrees however.

I like this cd a lot. Good band getting better, I think the newer stuff is more compelling, but, I like it all. |

This got stuck on at a mate's house last night. I was quite impressed, very atmospheric and mournful, in a grungy kinda way! Opener Knocked Up is real nice, and Charmer has a great riff. Actually, I have to say, Black Thumbnail is a bit of a rip off of Zep's How Many More Times? |

I just saw them live last nite. Their origianal show was canceled. They blew me away. Seeing their new stuff live last nite made me wonder why I haven't gotten into their new stuff more.
I even got a guitar pick from a very nice roadie.
