Maybe the Reunion doesn't have a point anymore, they played almost everywhere.
They played a lot of shows too

I agree, if they just keep touring without any new material then it is pointless and I'd have no interest in seeing them again. If they toured with a new album then I'd definately go back home to see them.

Hmm, well maybe if they started playing a more varied set... like a few more songs off of Bossanova and Trompe... I'd love to see those songs live. Pixies are probably my favorite band of all time, they are really really special to me. But I am kind of bored of the same old live set list of mainly just Surfer Rosa and Doolittle.

I saw an interview with Charles and he said 'Uber fans might love Baliey's Walk but the rest of the crowd would respond with confused silence'. Having said that, they did play 'into the white' quite a bit on the sellout tour.

Into The White is a different case. They used to play it at almost all the shows between 1989 and 1991. All the persons that saw them back at this time know this song, and it is one of Kim's highlight. That's why they played it in 2004 and 2005.

Yeah I read this too. But I don't think that it makes much sense to be honest. It sounds as it Pixies will not record another album, so why are they so concerned about winning so many more fans over? I think that if this Pixies reunion is a short term thing then they should pay particular attention to the uber fans that keep going to their gigs.

I dunno, when I look at the set lists of their gigs they don't really seem to change. For uber fans, this is boring. Adding a few changes, like a few other songs from Boss or Trompe would have made things a bit more interesting. I am sure that a lot of non uber fans who went to the gigs have heard these last two albums, so it wouldn't confuse them. Even the odd (different) b-side would have been o.k. Why not? Substituting Winterlong with another b-side wouldn't have made the audience think lesser of the quality of the gig.

I love Pixies, and seeing them in 2004 was one of the best gig's I have ever been to. But it seems a little lacklustre that they kept the reunion going by just playing the same old songs. It's the kind of thing Guns N Roses used to do. This really dissapointed me.

I heard that Black Francis from the Pixies is releasing an album called 'Bluefinger' in the fall. I guess it'll just be a 'PIXIE' album not 'PIXIES'. The album isn't released yet but its being said that the music on 'Bluefinger' is in true 'Black Francis' form. Every 'Pixies' fan should buy this album. Here's the link to Pre-Order this album:

you know, just cause they have been "everywhere" doesnt mean they have gotten to everyone...

pixies are my favorite rock band i still havnt gotten to see them!!

that is true a new album would be in order if they wanted to continue touring... i dont see how them touring could really hurt though, i think its great

It could "hurt" by blocking the involved parties from releasing new music. A tour is fun and all, but new music is where its at for most musicians.

I guess I mean that the shows were great, but if that was the last for the Pixies, they were low key about it. After listening to Bluefinger, I really don't care if Pixies release any new material. I have been quite satisfied with Frank's solo career. I do suspect that some of the Bluefinger tunes may have been written with a Pixies release in mind........

I dont think i would ever say i wasn't interested in seeing the pixies again, even if they did just play the same songs, how many of you listened to their albums over and over, i know i did,
and i would go see them again and again every few years.

I'd rather see Frank solo than with the Pixies any day if it means new material is involved. Not that being drunk and sentimental is a bad thing. I DO think they should do one farewell gig with a different setlist before folding, though!
