I am pretty late watching this, I guess, but have almost finished the first season now and do really enjoy this series.

The writing is excellent, as are the actors. Paints a dark picture of drug traffic an all it's effects (not only) in the projects. As realistic as it gets in television entertainment, I would say. HBO produces some good stuff.

Anyone elso into it?

Great show. All seasons are amazing but the 2nd one is my favorite.

yeah, just finished season one. i watched the first 20 minutes of the first episode of season two, and quite frankly, got bored very fast. Im sure things will pick up, but something about the shoreline setting was a turn off. I want the towers, damnit! and i also want at least some of the old characters back, i dont want to have to warm up to an entirely new cast.

but, the fact that you say the second is your favorite gives me much hope, heywood.

while were on the subject of HBO shows, has anyone watched deadwood in its entirety? the first two seasons were probably the absolute pinnacle of tv drama (gotta give some credit to Twin Peaks and Six Feet Under too), but DAMN the third season is just slow and bad. what the hell happened?

Yeah, I'm probably a little biased for the 2nd since the first episode I ever saw was McNulty getting wasted then crashing his jalopy into the freeway overpass. Then he puts it in reverse and does it again. Then there's the twelve dead hookers in the cargo container, a cornerstone to any good show! At any rate, keep watching. You'll love the new cast in no time, and you still get appearances from the boys in the tower.

Deadwood is okay, I agree that the last season was pretty lack lustre, it took forever for anything to happen. Good to see E.B. get the shit kicked out of him though. Apparently that is it for the show as well, a couple of movies to wrap it up maybe but being that it is a period piece it was costing HBO too much cash and wasn't wildly popular enough to continue with.

And I'd like to say that I don't really watch anything on regular television but these HBO shows (Sopranos and The Wire namely) have completely sucked me in. They are like a good movie that is 13 hours long. Best writing on any t.v. show ever.

have you got into six feet yet? It's completely different, and in some ways, a lot more personal than the other shows. Rather than really focus on a theme (mob, baltimore p.d., old west, carnivale, etc), it's focus is just on the eccentric members of one family, but DAMN, it really goes places. It also will go down in history as having the finest final episode ever, which is always a good thing.

Six Feet Under was okay but it lost some steam from about mid 3rd season on.

no way, third season started out mad slow, but by the end of it I think it had picked up again and never really quit. The wire second season is pretty kickass, im starting to warm up to Mcnulty a little more. I was starting to get tired of him in season 1, in the same way that I got tired of Nancy's shit antics on Weeds and have refused to watch the show ever since

I finished the third season two weeks ago. Thought it was was kind of the slowest so far, but I liked it nontheless. The focus on politics in the city/the police/the gangs made more than up for it. It's cool how every season looks on the drug business from a different angle.

Right now I'm three episodes into the fourth one. And love it right from the start. Man, this series is sooo good!

Where is HBO with this? Will there be a fifth season, when will it start?
