There is a very important happening this weekend in Ireland. An event occurred in the twentieth century which proved to be a source of inspiration and pride for many Irish people. An old rivalry between two island has culminated into the biggest event of the year. Tickets are impossible to get. And tensions could run over. Of course, I’m talking about the “Friends Of Fr Ted Festival”
It’s like this: A few guys wanted to start up a festival celebrating Fr Ted. They needed an island to host it on. They ended up picking Inis Mór as their Craggy Island. But, the people on a neighbouring island (Inis Oirr) got all pissed off, because they felt that their island was the spiritual home of Ted since it’s featured in the opening credits. BUT, Fr Ted wasn’t shot on either island, it was shot in London and Clare. Will their be riots? Unlikely. Will there be tea? Most definitely.
