Ok, I never have much luck using the search engine here, so if this has been brought up, I could not find it, my apologies.
What I'm wondering is... and I hesitate to even post it for reasons posted below... but..
Has anyone else heard in the past that FB might be the person who plays the killer in the David Fincher film "Z odiac"?
Is there any truth to that rumor?
Anyone know anything about this? Confirmation... denial... fear?
Here's one source... but from last year... http://offlineadventures.blogspot.com/2005/01/frank-black-motherlode.html and another http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050122e.php and there's little there to make it in any way official.
Also, maybe I'm fabricating this part... but it seems that I heard FB make mention of this once upon a time... but that part is oh so foggy and might just be crossing or misfiring synapses.
From what I see on IMDB and the movie trailers/adv. there is no one listed in the credits as playing said notorious figure (There is a foreboding reason for this I think, as the killer himself long ago said something about movies eventually being made, and his intent on doing in anyone that played him!!!
If you listen to the voice in the trailers... it COULD be him... but I'm kinda doubting it.
Anyway, just thought I'd see if anyone knew anything about all this... and figured this would be the place.

Somewhere on this forum Frank or a friend of his said something about him having to go down to L.A. for a screen test around the time they were casting the movie, so that had me holding out hope. It's a shame that he isn't. But I trust Fincher.

Saw it last night. Though no Frank anywhere in the thing, the guy who plays the suspected killer (Frances McDormand's husband in Fargo) looks a little like FB. And in one of the Zodiac killer's letters to the San Francisco Chronicle, Christmas is spelled with an extra 's'--Christmass. Hmmm... It's a great crime movie and my thumb is up. |

best movie i have seen in a while. three hours in a theater? no problem.
beside the cristmass spelling the game pong is featured and a seen with a taxi has a shadowed passenger that looks like frank but i could'nt rewind to confirm.
donovan's hurdy gurdy man is the main song played and you know frank digs him.
great movie. |

The early consensus seems to be better than Panic Room but not up with Se7en. PixieSteve, yeah, maybe I could give 'em up for Lent....and then gorge on links brought by the Link Bunny! |

i saw it last weekend.. it's worth seeing, but not one of Fincher's best... i guess it's a tough story to make a film out of because there's no exciting climactic ending.. the film does a great job of exploring the investigation process, and that's fascinating. i thought all the performances were great..
since FIGHT CLUB Fincher's films are so flat and lifeless.. i kind of had this theory that he did PANIC ROOM to satisfy the studios, so he could go and make a smaller crazy film (which i thought ZODIAC would somehow be).. but ZODIAC is extremely straightforward. even more than PANIC ROOM. at least PANIC ROOM had some interesting shots (and visual effects)..
don't get me wrong, what he does is extremely well done, but it's hard not to feel a little unsatisfied with the ending after sitting there for 3 hours..
i'll stilll go see anything Fincher does though, in a heartbeat
lost in the grain. you know what i'm sayin? |

Frank is not the Zodiac, and even if he was, he wouldn't tell you.
