I used to love The Lost Boys as a kid-however, watching some of it on TV in recent years, I now realise how corny and annoying it actually was! In any case, here's a rumour about a sequel:

The Lost Boys Get a Sequel!

Written by Robert Sanchez

Sunday, 14 January 2007

I know that some of you are not going to believe this, but, the IESB can reveal that the long-awaited sequel for The Lost Boys is scheduled to start production in 2007.

Last night, I was visiting with industry friends when I was told, “Did you hear that The Lost Boys sequel begins shooting soon?”

To which my response was, “no fucking way!”

After a few phone calls today, I was able to confirm that a sequel to The Lost Boys will indeed start shooting sometime in the first quarter of 2007 in San Diego, CA. It is slated for a direct to DVD release with no theatrical plans at this time. This continues WB’s plans to make low budget DTV sequels from their extensive film library.

While very little is known about the plot or about who will be directing or even who has been cast in the film, we know the story will revolve around surfing vampires in Southern California. Yes, you read that right, surfing vampires.

The original The Lost Boys film was released in 1987 and is about a group of kids from Santa Clara (Santa Cruz-like town), CA. who must fight a gang of motorcycle riding teenage vampires. It starred Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Alex Winter, Barnard Hughes, and was directed by Joel Schumacher.

The rumors regarding a sequel have been floating around since the late 80’s and even Joel Schumacher was pitching a sequel idea during the 90’s but to no avail. At one time there was talk of remaking the film and calling it The Lost Girls.

It had also been said that executive producer Richard Donner talked about doing a sequel that would show Edgar and Alan Frog A.K.A. The Frog brothers (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander in the original film) starting a vampire hunting business that would take them to Washington D.C.

Well, looks like those plans didn’t work out but instead we will have surfing vampires hanging 10. Gnarly!

Stay tuned to the IESB as bring you the latest movie news!

I still like some things about it, but it definitely has that irksome Joel Schumakerishness about it!!

If anyone watched 24 this weekend it looked like Kiefer Sutherland was re-living two roles from his past during one scene. During the scene Kiefer was being tortured, just before his main torturer was about to cut a finger off he got a phone call. During the distraction no one was watching him he pulled the wires that were attached to him to monitor his heart. Immediately he went "Flatline(rs)". The guard who was supposed to be watching him turned around when he heard the machine buzzing. He went to check his pulse and the guard got too close and Kiefer pulled a ”Lost Boys and bit the guards neck till he was dead. I looked at my wife and she looked at me. We both had the same idea Flatliners and Lost Boys. As for the new Lost Boys 2 if Corey Feldman is in it it’ll be garbage.

They could do it like a Frankie & Anette type of thing. You know, like the vamps from Santa Clara come down to battle the San Diego chapter (on their on the boards ofcourse) to see who will reign Rulers of the Beach.

I´d like to write the score for Heywood´s version. Plenty of plastic waterbottle percussion, closeharmonies, tremeloed guitars, hurdygurdies, cimbaloms, zithers and the whole lot.

EXCL: First Lost Boys 2 Casting News!
Source: Ryan Rotten

August 11, 2007

Our last report on Warner Bros.' long-mooted The Lost Boys 2 was a mawkish affair. As it turns out, the on-air wetworks was merely a display of crocodile tears.

ShockTillYouDrop.com has exclusively learned from an anonymous source that the vampire-slayin' Frog Bros. - Feldman and Jamison Newlander - are indeed returning for the next "Lost" adventure...and so is Corey Haim, reprising his role as Sam Emerson.

Lensing begins, with P.J. Pesce (From Dusk Till Dawn 3) at the helm, a week from Monday.

On the newcomer tip, we've also been informed Angus Sutherland - Keifer's half-brother (and son of Donald Sutherland and Francine Racette) - will star as this film's big bad vamp.

Tad Hilgenbrink (next seen in the upcoming Amusement) and Autumn Reeser ("The O.C.") have been cast as the leads.

Maybe the surfing vampires will fight the Surf Ninjas and the Surf Nazis.

I actually didn't see "The Lost Boys" until fairly recently, but I thought it was pretty fun.

As much as I loved the First Lost Boys as a kid, 20 years later seems odd. Why not though. It seems like an HBO movie or something.

Hey, at least it's a sequel, and not some crazy CGI remake.

I can't fucking stand Corey Feldman.

Corey Haim used to be cool, and I liked The Lost Boys when I first saw it.

It's sort of like Basic Instinct- the sequel was never needed in the first place and came out waaaay too late.
