I just thought I'd plonk this little thread here to see if anyone can help fill in the blanks and correct me until Tabmaster D works his magic. I've stopped at the chorus after the C7 because I have a feeling they are variations of open D next, and a high E would be handy (which I don't have).

Can I borrow your E string, please?
I'll give this a try when I get home, guidzie. Thanks for the addition. Keep it coming. |

after many listening to the song (on CD this time), it seems right. For the last chord, i can't say but it sounds good. so, the chorus patern could be :
[F G# C C7 A7 D7 D5b C C7] |

I'm now thinking the last chord is:
--2-- --1-- --1-- --0-- ----- -----
I think we have it, G. Every part seems covered within this thread, they just need repeating in whatever order. I'll try and tab out the whole thing soon, unless you're up to the challenge. |

This is a very cool thread. I'm not a guitar player -- in fact, I'm a very-beginner piano player -- but it's fascinating to watch you guys pick and pick until you've uncoded FB's work. I love it. The fun part for me is finding the FB tabs that I can do on piano. Still struggling with "I'll Be Blue," which ought not be that hard, but it's fun anyhow. Maybe I'll see what I can do with "Don't Get Me Wrong."
And aren't you havin' fun? |

Did Reid Paley really help fB write this? I always presumed it's a Frank Black only original. I think I missed a post somewhere. |

The only thing about this song/transcription is that the D75b doesn't seem like it should be held for so long. However, I think the song itself is the culprit. It's really strange. It's "begging" for a chord change right at that point, then nothing. From that D7, it seems like they/he really weirded it out. It sounds so awkward. Anyone else hear this and agree?
Nonetheless, excellent job. I all but guarantee that Frank was behind the gorgeous F ---> G# part to start the chorus. He's the master of surprising chord progressions like this. Frank, the songsmith.

Excelent, but I have one question, what kind of 4 string guitar (or is it a bass?) is he playing on the video? |

Great tab work Guidzie and FBC, the only details missing that I can find: For each C, Am, Em, Fm he is lifting off the D string between strums on whole note intervals, and of course the Dm he is sus'ing the high e string with his pinky. |

He's playing his tenor guitar in the video. That's really all I can tell you. I don't even know what a tenor sounds like, let alone if its in that song, but it makes me want to play one.

This is such a good song. Why isn't Christmass on any streaming services? |

This song is probably in my top 3 FB favourites. I'm learning to play it right now. I think after five years of chaotic self-study/practice I'm about ready for it. But I couldn't have done it without this tab, and this seems to be the only one that exists. So, thanks very much, FBC and guidzie, if you ever see this. |
