I have searched all over the place for somewhere to buy a soundboard recording but all I can find is someone on a Pixies message board claiming the soundman was asked and said these shows were not being recorded. If I knew that I might have went to all 3 as was the original plan (something came up Nov 4 and Nov 6 I just wasn't feeling it)

Unfortunately this is slightly overloaded.

i've uploaded a couple new torrents over last few weeks:
http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=280756
Black Francis
McCabes Guitar Shop, Santa Monica
1991-03-22 (Early Show)

Lineage: Trade cd > EAC v0.99 prebeta 5 (Secure Mode) > flac > you
previous circulating version has this lineage, and I assume this version is the same source (friends walkman), but not sure after that (different transfer perhaps?):
My friend's Walkman > my tape > DAT @44.1k > DA-20mkII > Hosa S/PDIF > Delta DiO 2496 > Peak > WAV > SHN (no extraction)

Setlist:
01 Cactus
02 Tony's Theme
03 Crackity Jones
04 Velouria
05 Isla de Encanta
06 The Happening
07 River Euphrates
08 Manta Ray
09 Dancing The Manta Ray
10 No. 13 Baby
11 Allison
12 Hang Wire
13 Blown Away
14 Ana
15 Cecilia Ann
16 Levitate Me
17 Debaser
18 Head On
19 Dead
20 Mr. Grieves
21 Holiday Song
22 Nimrod's Son
23 Weird at My School
24 Havalina
25 I'm Amazed
26 Gouge Away
27 Into the White
28 Where is My Mind?
29 Tame
30 Wave of Mutilation

Info:
Joey Santiago joins in from Cecilia Ann onwards. There is a tape flip between Levitate Me and Debaser. Everything I've found about the circulating version of this tape states the tape flip is in the middle of Debaser, whereas on this version it occurs before Debaser starts, so no music is lost. I don't think this is a different source, so I'm not sure why that is. I have checked the other version and it definitely has a tape flip in the middle Debaser, and also the quality of the beginning of Debaser before the tape flip is superior to this version, which is just strange. A mystery. Perhaps a different transfer of the same master? Not sure.
Also, the other version has a total running time of 79:26, whereas this one is 81:27. Not sure where the extra 2:01 comes from (complete version of Debaser provides some of it).
The quality is substantiably poorer after the tape flip, but it improves by Dead. Sound quality is not as good as the late show from the same date.
Anyways, I thought I'd post this because of the subtle differences from the previously circulating version.

Black Francis
McCabes Guitar Shop, Santa Monica
1991-03-22 (Late Show)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=78CS7UUS
this one i uploaded for a dude on dime cause last track has clicks, but maybe all versions have this...

http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=280892
Pixies
Meadowlands Arena, East Rutherford, USA
1992-03-18

Transfer by GB, extraction and seed by einzack:
Lineage: Audience > ? > cassette (low generation) > Sony TC-K679ES > NAD 7020i > A/V out > Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum > Cool Edit 2000 > CD Wave > CD-R (master) > EAC v0.99pb5 (secure) > flac > you

Setlist:
01. The Holiday Song (cut & fades in)
02. Nimrod's Son
03. Mr. Grieves
04. Vamos
05. Letter To Memphis
06. Palace Of The Brine
07. Gouge Away
08. Monkey Gone To Heaven
09. Is She Weird
10. Motorway To Roswell
11. Alec Eiffel
12. Bird Dreams Of Olympus Mons
13. Planet Of Sound
14. Head On
15. U-Mass

Notes: Opening for U2.
Sound quality is not very good, but as I finally managed to get a good rip of the disc I thought I'd put it up anyways. It doesn't seem well circulated.
There are a few pops and clicks which could be from the cd, but EAC didn't come up with any errors, so it might be the recording. But anyways, you've been warned.

enjoy,
einzack (2009-12-14)

26 I Love Your Brain
27 Sister Isabelle

NOTES: This was of course before the Pixies reunion (longest-running reunion tour in history) so I was understandably excited to see the man up close and personal in this small club with maybe only 150 in attendance. I staked out my spot about 5 feet from FB but learned after the show he isn't too friendly to filmers, oh well, he never said anything to me. I shot this hand-held and it turned out really steady...I do remember my back was killing me after his 2 hr set though. I don't think I have ever given this to anyone before now.

Recorded and authored by JLW.
Seeded on DIME 01/10.

encore:
30 Wave of Mutilation

Info:
After I seeded a version of this show in December '09, Butterking got in contact with me, saying he had a transfer straight off the master if I was interested. I was.
After sending it to me, I discovered that while it was definitely an upgrade in terms of sound quality, it was more incomplete than the 2 other circulating versions, although they all appear to originate from the same recording. The reason for this discrepency is a mystery. Anyways, for this torrent I have used the 2 higher gen versions to fill in the missing section of Debaser to make a complete concert.
The filled sections are obvious, but I considered producing a complete version of this concert a priority. This tape was missing all but the first couple seconds of Debaser, and I had to use both the other circulating versions because the one which had Debaser in it's entirety was the poorest in quality.
I also downsampled from 48kHz to 44kHz.
There is a small edit before Wave Of Mutilation, where the taper stopped the recording during the encore break. No music is lost.
The length of this version is 78:24, compared to the higher gen versions which run 79:26 and 81:27.
Joey Santiago joins in from Cecilia Ann onwards for some great versions of Pixies tunes.

enjoy,
einzack (2010-04-10)

All I did was track the recording, and seed it.
From what I can find, this has not previously circulated as either video or audio.
The video will be shared here sometime soon-ish.
The audio portion of this video is being circulated because the dvd transfer has been done using a DVD recorder, so therefore it does not have PCM audio. This audio transfer is lossless.
Bob Santiago joins the band on some songs.

sorry to rant and rave about this - but I'm personally not a real fan of torrents. Ever since they got introduced, they killed the true value and understanding of networking with other collectors to build a collection. Maybe I'm the only one here who feels this way. I know many people beg to differ (dimeadozen's member list speaks for itself), but I'll never go through the hassle of providing freebees online ever again - the hassle of recording the show and seeing the small amount of "thanks" (compared to the amount of people who downloaded the show and didn't thank) shows me that a lot of people who collect this stuff have lost touch.

NOTES: THIS SHOW WAS FIXED UP A BIT. IT WAS SOURCED FROM LEFT AND RIGHT CHANNELS
FROM THE SOUNDBOARD, BUT THE RIGHT CHANNEL WAS COMPLETELY DISTORTED WITH POPS EVERY
FEW SECONDS. THE LEFT CHANNEL HOWEVER HAD ONLY MINOR POPS THOUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SHOW.
EVEN THOUGH THE BOARD SOURCE WAS LEFT AND RIGHT STEREO, THE OUTPUT MIX WAS IN MONO.
SO THE RIGHT CHANNEL WAS REPLACED WITH THE LEFT CHANNEL IN SOUND FORGE, THUS PROVIDING
A MONO RECORDING. THE REMAINING POPS WERE REMOVED WITH COOL EDIT PRO.

Has anyone else heard this yet? Frank takes on an uncharacteristically nasal and youthful voice. He's almost unrecognizable at a couple spots in Horrible Day and a few others. Not at all similar to the 2006 performances I've heard before.

This sounds quite weird, this might be a result of the recording but I don't know precisely in which way, as I never heard something like this! Maybe on a 1996 show, the Hulsfred festival or something... I never knew if it was natural or not.

Anyway thanks for this uh err interesting experience... The sound is good despite that strange thing.

Wow, I think this is one of the better reunion shows I've heard -- they were really on form and the crowd was really into it! Thanks again.

EDIT: Ha! The crowd sings Joey's opening guitar line during Debaser -- the only other place I've ever heard that was at T in the Park (2004?), and it doesn't come across in any recordings even though it was really loud.

Notes:

This was a very special night, October 13th was the day that the 33 miners trapped in a San José Mine, were rescued,
in fact the show started 5 minutes after that the last miner was rescued. Pixies wanted to celebrate that day and
in honor to the 33 miners, they announced that they will play 33 songs, their longest setlist in their entire career.
Black Francis made the introduction on spanish, a very rare situation because he never speaks in Pixies in a concert.
Finally they played 35 songs in a magic night with one of the best setlist ever, that I had the lucky to record,
and I´m very glad to share with you.

*Gigantic was aborted because a crazy guy climbed to an ilumination tower, and they stopped until the guards could put him in a safe place.

I hope that you enjoy my recording.

Please don´t sell: share, share, share

Saludos
