so, without much intro:
there is a need to find the favourite FB songs. and of course, this forum is the best place for poll on that matter. the system for voting is as follows:
pick 15 of your favourite FB songs - by favourite i mean the ones you like most. maybe because for emotional reasons, maybe because you think this are his "best" songs, or this must not be neglected in his catalouge, or it just comes to your mind, or for what reason ever. that's why it is a poll on the favourite songs - i know how difficult (or impossible) it is to rank the songs by "objective" (whatever that means) criteria.
next, you have 150 points to give away for your 15 songs. you must distribute this 150 points between the 15 songs. you can give 136 points for one song and 1 point for the other 14 songs, or 10 points to all songs, or whatever. the only 2 rules are: 15 songs and distribution of 150 points to them. oh, and the two other rules are: NO COVER SONGS. NO PIXIES SONGS, only FB songs.
i'm that strict here because i want to automatize the processing of the poll. i don't know how excatly yet how i will do it but it will work out. for the automatic processing thing, please hand in your votes in this thread as follows:

it is important to put the song name between brackets [], and to leave at least one blank space (NO TABULATOR!!!) after the closing bracket. you will see how i will do it.

You've gotta allow covers. When I list my favorite FB songs, "Sunday Sunny Mill Valley Groove Day" is right up there. I might also include "That Burnt Out Rock and Roll." These are both covers, though Frank's versions are so different from the originals that they are practically his.
Sorry to try to throw a monkey wrench in the works already, but I think your guidelines need a little tweaking before this can be a valid survey. (But I should add, your list is the closest I've ever seen to matching up with my own faves, so I think you have good taste.)

this is a great idea -
I gave it a shot - but just to get down to 15 songs is tough!!! I was already way over the limit - and then I realized I hadn't even GOTTEN to Teenager of the Year yet!! That's when I hung it up.
I will add this though - by eliminating covers you are eliminating "Black Rider" and "666" which would probably have strong showings
Also - Deadman's Curve probably would have made my list had I completed it. And I notice that it has already made 2 other people's lists. And it hasn't even been released yet!!! Go little record go!!!!!!

hmm.. not too much interest in this thread so far. if more people would vote, we could come up with a "FSOFBNET" compilation (favourite songs of fb.net) ! (that was also the reason why covers are excluded)

no. you have a total score of 150 points to give away. the more points you give to a song, the more you like it. if you have 15 songs and you like them all the same, give 10 points to every song. only, the sum of all points must add up to 150.
the idea behind this system is that you have some freedom, but that you still have to weigh the songs against each other. it serves those fine who can't rank the songs and like the all the same, but also those guys who have some definite favourites.

I only post here cause it says "once and for all."
What if frankblack.net had a page where members log in and rank their top 10-20 songs and ranked the albums and the page published the results. Then if someone's mood changes they just log in again and change their selections and the results are updated immediately.
Then visitors can come by and see what the frankblack.net favorites. Hell, you can even spell it with a 'u' if you want.
Yea someone should put this together. Not it.
