it is a mnd blower when u learn how to play this song becuae it is so simple the same chord progression over and over all the way through its further proof that this band was somethign so special u never get sick of this song and it sounds out different parts and i love the way he sings it so funny!

One of the first Pixies songs to grab me. Maybe the first actually, I don't remember, but it has a special place alongside Freedom Rock, Speedy Marie, and the Imperial March.

Never sounded particularly special to me compared to some of the songs they did but its got one of the quirkiest meanings to a pixies song. Its about a girl thats riding along on her bicycle listening to music and gets hit, presumably by a car and dies.
Frank Black really was a morbid fucker when you think about it.

His catchiest song, no?
Thompson - It's about this weird kinda girl Kolderie - At one point they're just going "E-I-D!" Fool the World
This one time I heard them play, Charles was singing the chorus like 'Ed is the hoo hoo, Ed is dead' I loved that and now it's my sig.
I don't ask what it's about, just savour the shifting images it conjures up in the bagatelle of my mind. Like Charles says it doesn't matter, it's rock n roll [sic]. Surfin' Bird's line - papa ooo mow mow, papa ooo mow mow. What does that mean? If we need to ask we'll never know.
All the same I'd like to know what hormosa is. And don't get smart. I'm asking for simple translation not meaning. Anyone?
I dedicate my strand cruiser to the memory of this song.

I like it live myself..... I like how Frank improvises the endings with the boogie-woogie pickings. |

I don't know about hormosa, but hermosa is Spanish for beautiful.

the "hermosa strand" is part of Hermosa Beach, near where Frankie grew up
at least that's what your mom said |

Beautiful. Thank you.
So was Tarantino referencing EID when he has Butch tell Fabienne that Zed's dead baby, Zed's dead, or is that a stretch?
