Dean asked for congrats on buying his designer brand computing device, so maybe we need a "congratulate me" thread for congrats-worthy instances that don't quite register on the governmental radar. Like, for example, I bought a toy xylophone today, and retreived my accordion from my estranged house, and then bought a 50-film crappy DVD set thing. So to start, maybe congratulate me on my manic episode?

I'd congratulate Dean, myself. But then me, and then someone else.

In the last three days I've watched eight more baseball games than Dean has watched in a lifetime.

Hahaha, thanks Mike. However... and brace yourself... the number of baseball games I've watched is exactly equivalent to the number of cricket matches I've seen.

Congrats! Are you coming back here then?

Yesterday I listened to the whole Melt Banana album "13 Hedgehogs" in its entirety. That's 56 Melt Banana songs in a row.

Maybe he is confusing me with you, since we are both pretty awesome. You talking about me asking for congrats on purchasing a Mac Pro? I also purchased 2 extra GB of RAM, a desk chair, and a battery backup.

Don't mean to step on the humor with pedestrian comment but you really make me laugh floop. Great substance and even better timing. I'm still chuckling. OK now, I promise not to compliment you for a month.

Bingo. I guess I just knew it was one of the C*Os of the forums. Turns out it was Derek, the CTO. 2 extra gigs of RAM for a Mac; so you chose that over the new car, eh?

This happens to me every year - around October i get clammy hands, i get the chills, run a fever, generally get achy. I try and avoid it every time, but its no use, it finds me.

I have playoff fever.

Heh, well, I can't argue the awesomeness thing. But with all those peripheral purchases maybe we should be throwing a party instead of just having congrats threads. :)

Given that I'm rabid Red Sox fan since 1975, I don't think you gave it to me. But, baseball fans are a fine bunch. Brethren of a tradition.

Go Cards!!! Go Tigers!! 1968 World Series rematch.

I remember that series. I was thirteen years old, prime fan years, and was devastated. The Cards had won in seven in '64 and '67 and I thought that was the way it had to be.

I was born in 68. A couple of weeks after Nixon was elected. I'm not proud of this.
