How strange. He was a Catholic and out of their death rose up to be an Ascended Master.

For while, we were thinking he might've played on some Tom Waits records too. Anyone remember that? Alas, it was too good to be true.

So was it confirmed by anyone that the Tom Waits Dave Phillips is not the Frank Black Dave Phillips, then?
The Tom Waits Dave Phillips even played pedal steel guitar.

And before that he played with Tommy Stinson. Not bad.

I wonder if Dave ever asks Pollard why he hates Frank's new music, and what his problem is. I seem to recall some shitty comments about "Llano Del Rio", one of my favorite later-day frank songs. |

Frank and Bob's sensibilities are pretty well 180 degrees from one another. And hey, what'dya know! They're my two favorite songwriters of the last twenty years. |
