Hi there, I'm a big Pixies fan, and although I don't intend to make my home here, I was wondering if anyone had some Frank related answers for me?
Basically I keep noticing Lou Reed references in Frank's work, and I was wondering how much other people saw. What's the story there? And I'm not just talking about "I wanna be a singer like Lou Reed".
Pleased to meet you.
"Goodnight Kim", "Goodnight Charles", "Goodnight Kim", "Goodnight Charles", "Goodnight Joe".... "Goodnight Charles" |

It's not really a reference, but when my mother first heard Jumping Beans she had to be talked out of the belief that it was a duet with Lou singing the verses.
I can't say I notice all that many direct references to Lou Reed in Frank's songs, but I only have a passing familiarity with him and the Velvet Underground. What are some of the other examples you're talking about?

Haha, that's awesome considering Frank wrote about this song "Trying to be Lou" in the Oddballs liner notes. Guess he pulled it off.

Never clocked a Reed influence on Jumping Beans, funny!
