There was also the Hangin' With FB which aired after The Alternative. It was a thirty minute interview where Frank talked about everything from taking his family with him on the road (watching Steve Martin movies) to recording a new PIXIES album, with his dream of Tom Waits as producer. He definately said he wants to, but is afraid the other members are afraid he'll turn it all country. They showed (from the Sell Out dvd) a performance of HCYM, and he ended the interview signing an LP copy of Doolittle with multiple retractable Sharpie's. Frank was very excited by the fact there are now retractable Sharpie's. He said his son would love them (but that every surface would be covered in ink). He signed the album Frank Black Francis. It was a fun 30 minutes, and he was suffering from some strange nervous facial twitches and ticks which had my sister and I laughing. Frank's Word Of The Day: MOJO (he must have referred to his own 'mojo' at least 10 times.

Caught The Alternative flying across country on Jet Blue last night. Flight was delayed and I was feeling pretty crappy. Pleasant surprise to see FB on the little screen. He was playing some excellent vids, too.

Funny thing I did not mention above... when I got on the plane, the girl next to me's phone rang and her ringer was Birdhouse in Your Soul. As we were landing in Long Beach, Frank played that video. What are the odds?

Are you serious or joking? Or was he joking? Because that's my biggest fear.

Last night I dreamt I was hanging out with floop and some other guys, and we watched a DVD edition of the TMBG tribute album that had an insanely cool video of Frank singing this awesome song with TMBG, that brought tears to our eyes. Yeah, even floop wept like a little baby. Frank's singing was fantastic. He looked like on the yellow album videos, with hair and a baseball cap.

That's what he said, and quite earnestly I might add.
And Floop...funny you should mention the Silverlake Shakespeare Bridge. I was just thinking about it yesterday...that whimsical bridge! Haven't crossed it lately...but when I do, my soul burns with delight. (sort of.)

yeah, i didn't know the bridge at the time of the interview. but now i live pretty close to it, so i always think about that interview when i cross it.
also, i remember during the interview he said "look, there's a cow mutilation" as a total non sequitur. it was this odd, funny moment

WTF !!?? I rushed home from work yesterday to watch Frank on VH1 Classic at 6:00 pm as advertised and they had the Beacon Brothers on instead talking about cover songs. The info on the TV said it was FB.
Any way of seeing this outside of a torrent. I have tried them in the past but can't get it to work. |

Soren, you are cooler than cool.
That Jennifer Aniston lookalike Lynn Hoffman is kinda foxy, but annoying-does she have to keep interrupting every few minutes and leading you throught the show by the hand?! In any case, new Frank interview video stuff is fantastic to have, and it was nice to hear that he still has his heart set on Tom Waits for Pixies producer! I like the way he signs the album with a bunch of pens, hehheh!! Thanks a mil again, S!
