I'll try to post a review tomorrow. The auditorium is known to be "accoustically perfect" - and it is a shame this is not a solo show. Ten songs only? - I wish I went to Birdy's to see the full blown show. Hopefully the FF are not as bad as the people here think - after all the new york times gave them a decent review. I am hoping Senior Black plays Chipaway Boy and Western Star, in addition to Sing For Joy which is a classic epic.

the man played for a half hour. whiskey in your shoes, i burn today, holiday song, the water, cactus, headache, where is my mind, sing for joy, nadine, and manitoba. the first half of that is in the right order i think. i thought it was very cool. he brought a lot of intensity i think. the crowd was fairly receptive. i only heard one or two boos through his whole set, but there was quite a bit of cheering. the foo show was better than i expected but i still didn't like it that much. i think i liked about four of the songs but dave was fairly entertaining between songs, so that made the show more enjoyable. its a shame that most of the newer foo songs all sound about the same to me cause i used to be in love with them.

Manitoba, Nadine, and Sing for Joy were done by Frank and an accompanying accordian from the Foo Fighters keyboardist. A great set. The order was Whiskey, Holiday, Cactus, Where is My Mind, Headacehe, Water, I burn today, Nadine, Manitoba, Sing For Joy and at the end of Joy he said thank you and then strummed the chords for a while on his way out. His vocals, vastly improved since I saw him solo on the Cult of Ray tour at the Riviera. His Guitar playing also very creative and improved.

And props to Frank - he looks like he lost some weight since the last time I saw him with the Pixies at the Aragon in October 2004. Perhaps he quit smoking or simply decided to lengthen his career.

It's too bad about the derelict that was annoying Frank at his feet during his entire set until security whisked him away. Frank said a few things to him but seemed completely unphased by the clown.

I paid 120 a piece for my tix, which is about $12 per Frank Black song - I wish I saw him solo cause the Foo Fighters just weren't worth it. Every song seemed the same: slow slow slow, then every instrument at full boar, then slow, slow, slow, repeat. It occurred to me around 10pm, "I wonder what Frank could do with that 8 piece band?". I reached my fourth yawn around 10:20 and decided to call it a night. I like the Rock CD - In Your Honor, and I respect the band, it just wasn't for me.

Long Live the King!!
